    He tells you that cause it leaves very little coverage. Imagine your Empoleon Vs my Torterra. All your moves won't take it out. But after that failed attempt, one Earthquake will wipe out Empoleon. However, with, say, Ice Beam, you can take out my Torterra in one shot. Hence why all water moves are bad.

    I'm no expert on Empoleon but I am good enough to know that, that Empoleon sucks

    Empoleon doesn't suck. It has a good special attack base, a wide movepool, and an interesting typing that grants it with many resistances. Yes, it has below average speed and a few weaknesses, as it makes it more difficult to have it survive for long periods of time, but everything has its strong and weak points.

    Agreed. Even though it's Steel type may make it weak to CC/Aurasphere/Earthquake, it's a great pokemon to use for a wall. Especially when you consider how many types Empoleon walls, then that's pretty impressive.

    Sure, Empoleon may suck to the eyes of those who Close combat it and use type advantage. well that's exactly why people think it sucks. And that doesn't give people a say in that. Using type advantage doesn't give people a say in anything in whether something sucks or not. Use something that does normal damage on an Empoleon, and see how much HP it has left.

    I've even witnessed an Empoleon that survived Close combat. I don't think it was STAB, really. I don't even know what pokemon I used. Though it did survive. And I have to give it credit for surviving too.

    So all in all, just because it's slow doesn't mean it sucks. That just means it's slow. There are lots of pokemon with speeds with 260 and under. So saying Empoleon sucks because it's slow is being biased against slow pokemon in general..which isn't right =\

    He never said Empoleon sucks, he said THAT Empoleon sucks. Meaning that particular Empoleon set. And he gave a better one.

    Empoleon is wonderful. O_O;

    It has amazing Special Defense. Also along with the right EV's it can survive stabbed Earthquakes and Close Combats. Penguinpal6 , I understood what you said, but you don't have to be harsh.

    This Empoleon is Bold, so you could rebreed it and retrain it.

    Try this set.

    Empoleon @ Leftovers
    Nature: Bold
    EV" 252 HP/124 Sp Atk/124 Def
    -Surf
    -Ice Beam
    -Protect/Rest
    -Stealth Rock/Grass Knot

    I do believe that set is standard. Well done. No sarcasm intended, of course.
