Hey everyone! I'm new to the forum and new to competitive battling, and I was wondering if you guys could help me tweak my first competitive team. Let's get to it...

    Empoleon @ Expert Belt/Choice Scarf/Salac Berry
    Timid
    -Surf
    -Ice Beam
-Grass Knot (most OU are heavy; and no movesets to counter Water-types)
-Flash Cannon/Agility/Double Team (not really sure)

    Alakazam @ Choice Specs
    Rash
    -Calm Mind
    -Psychic
    -Focus Blast (to counter Dark/Steel)
-Shock Wave (for 'never-miss and lack of other Elec. moves)

    Garchomp @ Choice Band/Life Orb/Salac Berry
    Naughty
    -Earthquake
-Dragon Claw (D. Rush is too inaccurate for me)
    -Fire Fang
    -Crunch/Rock Slide

    Dusknoir @ Leftovers/Chesto Berry
    Impish
    -Toxic
    -Double Team/Substitute(?)
    -Rest
-Night Shade (for everything not Normal)

    Ninjask @ (Have NO idea)
Adamant (no Spd. increase because base is already high)
    -X-Scissor
    -Double Team
    -Baton Pass
    -NO CLUE PLZ HELP

    Skarmory @ Leftovers
    Impish
    -Spikes
    -Roar
    -Substitute/Roost
    -Aerial Ace ('never-miss' and STAB)

I chose to have Empoleon because of his many resistances and because I have a rule of using the starter that I chose, to be a part of my team. The rest is self-explanatory - Alakazam for Sp. Sweeper - Garchomp for Ph. Sweeper - Dusknoir for Wall/Annoyer - Skarmory for Wall - Ninjask to pass speed and evasiveness for sweepers to do their thing. No cleric because not sure which one to use. I'm also not really sure who to start the battle with so please help me with that too.

    Thanks guys!

P.S. - no idea what my Friend Code is or where to find it.

Many people will probably disagree with me but I say go for Flash Cannon, because of its resistances, you don't HAVE to use as many moves to keep it alive

    Alakazam @ Choice Specs
    Rash
    -Calm Mind
    -Psychic
    -Focus Blast (to counter Dark/Steel)
-Shock Wave (for 'never-miss and lack of other Elec. moves)
Alakazam really lost some of it's value this generation, so I'd look to go out of the box on him, surprise some people

    Garchomp @ Choice Band/Life Orb/Salac Berry
    Naughty
    -Earthquake
-Dragon Claw (D. Rush is too inaccurate for me)
    -Fire Fang
    -Crunch/Rock Slide
I'm not to familiar with Garchomp but you seem to have a really good physical sweeper, I'd go with Crunch because Psychic types are popular and it's good coverage for Alakazam and Dusknoir

    Dusknoir @ Leftovers/Chesto Berry
    Impish
    -Toxic
    -Double Team/Substitute(?)
    -Rest
-Night Shade (for everything not Normal)
Curse could work well if you want to add to the annoyance factor, mixed in with Dusknoir's high sp. Def. and rest you could take some blows and do some damage too

    Ninjask @ (Have NO idea)
Adamant (no Spd. increase because base is already high)
    -X-Scissor
    -Double Team
    -Baton Pass
    -NO CLUE PLZ HELP
You might want to teach it some high powered attacks because of it's high speed, of course(looking somewhat outside of the box here)Dig, Return and Solarbeam are all possibilities

    Skarmory @ Leftovers
    Impish
    -Spikes
    -Roar
    -Substitute/Roost
    -Aerial Ace ('never-miss' and STAB)
I have a personal preference for Roost cause it's not so unpredictable. Also becareful with Roar, it could backfire on you. Attract could work in your favor.

I chose to have Empoleon because of his many resistances and because I have a rule of using the starter that I chose, to be a part of my team. The rest is self-explanatory - Alakazam for Sp. Har...?? No, no Milotic

I tried not to do to much with what you had, too lazy to completely overhall it

Well first any pokemon that knows a good Fire move and Dark/Ghost move such as a Salamence or Arcanine with Flamthrower and Crunch can take down four of your six. Throw in Earthquake, ouch!

That's my two cents, many people have diferent battling strategies then me but I like it.

Hmm, seems pretty straight forward, id ditch the Ninjask. Its stats arent great, plus I fell personally thats its type is a but shaky. If u need a flying type, go for say, chatot, or maybe something flying wont hurt, lke Gyarados.

Gyarados, electic attack, no more Gyarados. It's best purpose is a sweeper, and you have one of those. if you could get your hands on a Vespiqueen that'd be pretty good.

Edit:o and by the way Flamesfan, if your referring to the Calgary Flames i must inform you that Canucks RULE! Good luck with your team though

1st- Double Team and Minimize are getting more and more banned from using, because they rely(spelling?) on luck. Also, you shouldn't use them anyway.
2nd- Baton pass fails. There are alot of pseudo-hazers and even hazers around. If you would use Ninkask, would be just to kill Heracross with Aerial Ace, but it can't even switch safely to Heracross.
3rd- Choice Specs and Calm Mind? What's the point? Also, Shock Wave isn't worth it. Really.
4th- If a guy doesn't suggest EVs it's because, probably, that guy doesn't know **** about pokémon.

Ninjask isnt so bad. Basically replace Double Team with Swords Dance.

Swords Dance once and Baton Pass the next.

Ok, first of all, i think you should get rid of Ninjask. Its only good stat is speed and he has OK attack. He isnt really that good. I really like Dusknoir, he is on my usual team, and this should be his set up:

    Dusknoir@ Leftovers
    EV's: Def- 255, SDef- 255
    Nature: Calm
    -Curse
    -Destiny Bond
    -Mean Look
-Rest/Shadow Punch (to rack up more Damage)

You dont need another flying type because of the Skarmory. I wouldn't do a Milotic if you are keeping Empoleon. Other then that it is pretty good team.

Thanks for the help guys. I was wondering what I should include instead of Ninjask then. Also...THE CALGARY FLAMES RULE ALL!!!!!

Another alternate move for Dusknoir is Painsplit over Destiny Bond. It is up to preferences.

Looks good. Not a big fan of Skarmony though.

    LOL
    Sweeping Skarmory
    Choice Band
    Jolly/Adamant
EVs- 4 HP and maximize Speed and Attack

    Drill Peck
    Steel Wing
    Rock Slide
    Pursuit

No, CBSkarm needs max HP. Its purpose is a surprise bulky sweeper, and it can't do that without HP.

WOOOOOOOOO GO FLAMES GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NUX' SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!
(By the way, a good pokemon that knows a strong, accurate fire and dark move will destroy you.)

Nothing's wrong with Ninjask. You were just using him wrong, that's all. He has overwhelming speed, so use it. Baton Passing it to a slower Pokemon is a smart idea. Try that out. If that doesn't work, your a horrible trainer.

Just kidding. Try something else if it doesn't work. Just make sure to use Ninjask speed to your advantage.

BTW (this means by the way, right?), I always follow that 'starters on my team' rule too.
