I apologize in advance if this post is in the wrong place, ive been looking for a while and i hadnt found anything useful. I completely new to the site and I just had a question to get me going on my way.
I played pokemon a lot when i was younger and would like to get back into it, but the question is how do i get my pokemon to transfer up to omega ruby? I bought my friends 3DS and omega ruby ruby for 35$ :D and I want to transfer my pokemon from my soul silver up to my omega ruby. Ive heard of this thing called the pokebank but it seems like it only works for games like X&Y and b/w b/w2 and if so, do i need to transfer pokemon to black or black 2 the to Y? Or can i skip a generation (black) and transfer to Y. and if it is a ladder like i feel like it is then is getting black, white 2, X a good idea? once again sorry if i broke forum rules. and thank you if you reply

Basically, the transfer process goes from this:
3rd Gen to 4th Gen by inserting R/S/E/FR/LG into DS or DS Lite
4th Gen to 5th Gen by using DS Download Play and then catch in 5th Gen's Poke Transfer
5th Gen to 6th Gen by using Pokemon Bank on the 3DS
