What do you guys think is a reasonable number of Pokemon species to have in one game? Is there such a thing as 'too much' or 'too few'? For those who played FireRed/LeafGreen, do you feel that the game would have been better with more Pokemon species?

The more the better, in my opinion. Unfortunately, there is a limit. If you want to include the original 493, I wouldn't include extra pokemon because it would take too long to put into a game. However, if you're doing a stand-alone set of pokemon, I'd do around 150-200. That's just me, though.

I don't understand. If more is better, why should there be a limit? Do you mean a physical limit in that a Pokemon game couldn't support more than a certain number of species? Because I don't think that is really an issue.

Although this is the wrong section for this to be posted, I say it would depend on the layout of the region. But just to throw out a number i would say 150-200 for one region and about 300 for two regions.

personally i'd like a game with a LOT of new pokemon, maybe ONLY fakemon!
that would show a lot of dedication and skill of the team.
