Reckon there's gonna be a pokemon game in the future with all 4 regions accessible?

    Title explains it all.
Who knows, it might happen though very unlikely.
I mean if Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh could be accessible in just one game, all I can think of is "wow... that's a lot of memory gonna be saved in just one game".
Diamond, Pearl and Platinum probably contains a LOT of data (considering the time it takes for me to save the game). This version would be pretty much be fives times as big as the 4th gen games.

So what are your thoughts on this?

Since this is more game-related than anything, I'm gonna toss it in the General Games forum. :]

If they did this it wouldn't be on a handheld, so it'd be on the Wii or one of its successors. That and it would probably happen when they've near-exhausted all their other ideas for a Pokemon game since that seems like a last-ditch effort to get fans of all variety to buy the game. :s

Like most people I think it's their last resort measure.

By the time they can make it, Nintendo's handhelds should have enough RAM or whatever to save games faster.
At least 16GB can be fitted into something the size of a DS card [citation courtesy of PSP memory sticks]. Considering the largest games around for full-on computers are about that large, there's no worry of Game Freak not being able to fit a simple game into Nintendo's little cards.

Yeah. I could see it when pokemon goes out of business (in 50 years or so, please!), they release a mega collection with all the core games on it. It'd be awesome, but very sad.

They would have to get past the leveling issue first (if all 4 regions are available you'll probably reach level 100 before you even make it to the fourth region). I think it would be awesome if they could solve that problem, but yeah, it would probably be when they're about out of ideas for new games.

That would be sick, but then what are they going to do after that? No idea.

Maybe it would be like one game has two regions, the other game has the other two (Red & Green, Gold & Silver, Ruby & Sapphire).

Can't be that difficult for them to raise the level cap. They may have to make Pokemon grow faster to offset that though, so yes I suppose it remains a bit of an 'issue'.

That would also make the game incompatible with any of the previous games, which I guess wouldn't be as big of a deal if this is a new generation...we can only hope that they're open to changing something like that that has been a staple of the games since G1.

I think if they were to do this it would probably have to be on a console rather than a handheld.

Holy pepperonies, Batman. that'd take like 5 hours to save! I think it would be a nice change-of-pace sort of game, but if one Gameboy game costs $35 and they have four generations of data in ONE, can someone say expensive? I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted near $100 for it. And if they made it a console game (to help with saving issues) they'd get whining and complaining from those that "want it to stay somewhat traditional and keep pokemon generations on handhelds". Good idea, I'd like it, but probably not a majority of players.

I don't think Nintendo would make a game like that.
    Why?

First of all, Nintendo's very successful right now so there's a great chance there'll be more regions to come, and if they ever make that game, they would probably make it in the distant future so...
Second, I'm sure that contain a lot of data, and I don't think the DS can support much data.
It could be on the Wii, though.
Third, just like what the above poster said, that would probably take a long time to save.

Nintendo would have to be completely out of ideas for that to ever happen imo.

I'll be great, and it'll be the longest console game in history(if there's other gens 5 up). But I think it'll be many years to come before we could play that. We'll be old then.

There has been many threads on this subject and they answers are normally:
    Too expensive
    Not enough memory
They'd have to REALLY be out of ideas to do this
    etc~

This would be such a great game but the saving time etc would remain a problem. Also could a DS handle rendering and displaying 4 regions at any one time? That issue might result in a little bit of lag but that won't matter if the game itself is good. It would be like if you play CoD online, it might lag but the game remains good. If they work out the leveling issue and let us get our pokemon above LvL 100 it would make an even awesomer game.

One question, if the made it would it not be cool if you could go to the frontier and the other ones in other games but instead of seperate islands, one biig island. They could also make an Ultimate Four where you face the 4 champions of the previous games.

O.o that is a long post for one topic.

If it were to come out, it would mean that they're desperately running out of ideas. It would probably go on a console instead of a hand held though.

The real problem with something like this is:

    Nintendo's model is like this:
Release two of the same game, in a way that you need both for 100% completion.
Make a TV show to promote 100% completion.
    Milk for a while.
    then

    Release a new console.
    Upgrade games.
Release new series of TV show.
    Milk some more
    Repeat.

Shoving all the games in one would cut down their revenue severely.

Memory and RAM concerns are rubbish IMO, as pokemon is far from the most complex game (in terms of graphics and implementations, not gameplay) on the DS atm, never mind in the future.
