I finally got BRT and I'm trying to recruit all the available Pokemon, but my partner keeps knocking them out. I could use an actual attack to knock them out, but I don't know if that would work or not. Do you need to use the "normal" attack to recruit or can you use actual attacks (Tackle, Quick Attack, etc)?

It can be any attack but I think it needs to be from your attack and you need their friend area.

You also have to be in melee range - any distance between you and the Pokemon and you can't recruit him.

A 99 floor is'nt as hard as you think Soul keepr.Think about it,a boss isnormally the strongest pokemon in that dungeon,right?
So if a lv.30 Mewtwo is the strongest,the pokemon in 1-98 are lower than 30!

lol wow alot of useful info here. Just got Red rescue team two days ago. Its Gengar XD never saw it comin lol. This stuff is good, it explains why my MUdkip Never evolved at 18. I tested in the begining all the results of the questions to see who I came out with. I got Meowth once XD But still never could answer the questions right for Charmander. oh well.

Ok, question. It says everywhere that you need to first recruit zapdos then you can get the other two birds, but i managed to recruit Moltres first! I've also tried recruiting the other two but they don't seem interested. Should i keep trying or is there something else i need to do?

You can actually go in any order as far as capturing goes. Zapdos is just the first one you fight and thus becomes available.

And, as long as your leader's level is in the 90s to 100 and holding a Friend Bow you'll be fine. Just keep trying.

Oh, and you can also save at the midpoint, then keep trying from there as opposed to doing the whole dungeon again (the end result isn't set in stone until the actual battle. I got two of my dogs and a bird this way :))

Your Pokemon doesn't have to be in the 90's or holding a Friend Bow. My Pokemon were only in their 50's when I recruited the legendary birds. The main key is persistance.

No, they don't NEED to be, but it REALLY helps (actually, without any bonuses whatsoever you can't get them). At only around level 50, your chances would have only been...less than 10% or so, I believe. That's REALLY lucky, or at least 10-15 tries each o.0...

You're probably right, coz Groudon was one heck of a pain to get, even with the Friend Bow.

Well, considering that Groudon's base chance (without bonuses) is a whooping -10%, which, without the Friend Bow, requires you to be at at least level SIXTY to have any chance, and even then it's only 2.5%...yeah, it'll be hard without anything like that. That's why it's best to be over level 90 and have a Friend Bow--with all that, Groudon's chances increase to 24%. Not bad compared to before, eh?

...And, I goofed. The birds' base chance is actually 30%, so at level 50 and no Friend Bow that's a 40% chance (but, on the other hand, at max level and Friend Bow it becomes 64%). I forgot that the birds don't have the dismally-low recruitment chances characteristic to most of the other Legendaries (except those that you recruit almost instantly, of course).
