5th Gen References To Other Generations In-Game?

So when playing Black and White, I noticed a couple of small references to Pokémon from other generations. For example, the Deepseatooth appearing with an item description talking about Clamperl before you've even reached the post-game. Have you found any more things like this, and do you like them being in a 5th generation game?

Personally I don't like the idea because Game Freak were trying to make a completely new game experience for the players, so I don't get why they'd include references to older generations.

I think it's good that they did stuff like that because you can't pretend that there's nothing else out there. They have technology to go to other places so they would know about other regions anyway, so it would be dumb for them to only talk about Pokemon in Unova.

I love references to old games! It enables connection (whether large or small) between games. It's all and well that they wanted a reboot of sorts for Black and White, but that doesn't mean they can't add a small bit of connectivity between generations and the games themselves.

I enjoyed most of the references to gen 4 (sinnoh and Johto) it really brings out one's memories about those events such as Giratina, Lugia and Ho-oh (distortion world, silver and rainbow wings)

Adding on to this, the people that live in the Unova region could have vacationed in other regions and brought the items from the old games back which they could have lost on their way back home.

It's a good thing that they put connections of the older generations into Black and White because it draws people (that like the older versions of the game) more into the newer versions

I loved hearing the past generation references, particularly:
-The ex-Team Rocket member in G/S/C/HG/SS Kanto (Iccirus City)
-Steven (in Undella Town)
-Team Rocket takeover music (Castelia City)
-Team Rocket and Team Galactic (N's Castle)

I loved seeing the foreign Rocket member from G/S/C/HG/SS. It's always funny to hear him talk and now we know what region he hailed from and how his attempt to start up Team Rocket in Unova (didn't) go. Still, I can't help but wonder why it's just him in Unova that talks funny...

Other things, I didn't pay much attention to. Those people could have easily come to the region on vacation (heck, Cynthia did) which would explain the references.

• The Armaldo in Nacrene City Gym/Museum.
• A backpacker in the Desert Resort mentioning Go-Goggles.
• A trainer onboard The Royal Unova mentioning that he's from Sinnoh.
• Shauntal mentioning the Rainbow & Silver wings.
• Shauntal mentioning the Distortion World and Giratina
• The Riches being similiar to the Winstrates.
• Elesa being a fan of Volkner.

I loved this :P The team rocket guy made me laugh. Also there are Pikachu every where if that counts.
