This thread revolves around the trivia of the regions in the pokemon game. Post any trivia you know about a region
Unova (aka Isshu) is the only real life odd generation, main game, region based on a real life place that doesn't start with a K, Kanto is based on Kanto, and Hoenn on Kyushu. Instead Unova is based on New York

All main series Regions introduced in an odd numbered generation (Kanto/Hoenn/Unova) have had at least one gym which the Gym Leader has changed, which varies depending on version or generation

Kanto had two changes in Gymleader, which both appeared in Generation2. Viridian began with Giovanni, but then changed to Blue. And Fuchsia changed from Koga to Janine.

Hoenn, during Ruby/Saphire, had Wallace for the Sootopolis leader, but in Emerald, it changed to Juan. Wallace since became the Champion in Emerald, replacing Steven from Ruby/Saphire.

The final gym in Unova changes depending on region too. Playing Pokemon Black leads you to fight Shaga, while White fights Iris. They use the same Pokemon, albeit with opposite genders. The first gym also varies, but that depends on your choice of starter.

    Strange...

The name behind Hoenn is "Abundant Relations". That is also the main theme of the R/S/E games.

The Hoenn region is actually rotated 90' degrees anticlockwise from its real-world counterpart. This change was made because the developers thought it would improve all around playability.
