Also, think of it this way -you like her purely in a deep way -her status doesn't matter to you since you've known her for so long..how many other people can offer her that? Complete uncaring about her status, and just loving her personality?

Well the first thing you've got to make sure of is that you honestly do like her. You say she used to like you..but that means you didnt return it? Make sure that you dont only like her now because she's no longer giving you as much attention, and because someone else is getting that attention.

Heh. Okay, confusing story time, boys and girls!!

There`s a girl (wow, now, let`s call her "1" so as to avoid too much confusion), and obviously, I like her, right? Pathetic, for I have since...Last...March, or so...But, anyways, I know I have no chance with her (I`m not even degrading myself, right? I just...have a feeling, right?)
Then, there is another girl (lets call her...um..."2" o.o; Wow. I`m so original) and well, she`s really cool. She likes me, I think (and so does my friend, who now hates me for some stupid reason) so, yeah. Because, she`s always like, when I walk further behind the "group," just because I don`t feel like keeping up, she always falls behind, too, and is like "...I thought I lost you. . ." or something...There are other things...But, it`s just, well...
I`m a dumb?ss. Let`s put it that way. I don`t want to give up on "1," even though I know I have no chance, and the thingis whenever I`m with "2" and I see "1," for some reason, I feel bad about it. Mehh...Like, I`m losing something, you know?
And, I don`t even know that it`s like I like "1," anymore, `cause I think I`m starting to fall for "2." Just, something is holding me back, and I have no idea what it is...

Well, theres more to it, but, I`ll add that, depending on the response.

To Camp Kill Yourself:
It's difficult to completely let go of someone that you have wanted for so long, but it seems that your heart is giving up, which may be a good thing if she may not be interested.
No2 sounds like a sweet girl, and I really think that you should go for it with her ^^
You probably feel guilty becase yearning after someone for so long is almost like being in a kind of relationship -you feel almost committed to them.
Don't worry -that feeling will fade!

First of all, never ever have low self-esteem -always keep high confidence. Girls like guys who are confident about themselves ^^ having low confidence encourages girls to stay away, which lowers your self-estee more, so its a vicious cycle to get into.
If I were you, I would talk to her about status etc., and hear her opinions -she may surprise you. If you show her that status doesnt matter, then you can reveal how you feel. If she is still set on status, then move on and let go.
It's worth the try though, otherwise you may always wonder what may have happened ^^
Like i always say, its better to regret having done something, than to regret not having done something you wanted to.

I have one suggestion that may or may not work. Because of what i said about her self-esteem, help her to see that she's a great person, with beauty and personality, and her status wont matter to the people who really care about her.
If you help to boost her self-esteem, she may not feel the need to boost her popularity so desperately, and so look differently towards you ^^
But if there's honestly no pleasing her, then you have to honestyl look at things as say "So popularity is more important to this girl than even our long deep friendship..since she pretends im her cousin..is a relationship really worth it, since she may be willing to drop me for a higher status"? You should avoid someone who is stuck on purely status and being shallow
