3rd Gen Releasing Pokemon

    Ok I have a problem with my Tentacool, I cant release it. I dunno if this is a glitch because i cheated, or a feature in the game, but its annoying. Ok so i released my tentacool and it said "Tentacool was released" then it dissapears from my PC, then it says "... ... ... ...!" then it says "Tentacool came back!" "Was it worried about you?" Now this is just a small lvl 6 HM slave tentacool that i never used, and releasing my Swampert was easy! Anybody know whats up?
     
    The game won't let you get stuck by releasing a pokemon that has a(few) HM move(s) if no other pokemon you own have those/that move(s). Why would you want to release it anyhow?

    The game developers for Pokemon just became my favorite. I never thought of that before.
     
    If it knows Surf, then that's probably why. The game won't let you go without a -mon that knows Surf, at least I think so... Could be wrong, though. Another thing is that if you've had it in your party a lot, it might have grown to like you. (And that's not the RP side of me, there's a girl in Vendanturf who can tell you if they like you) If you try to release it and it's the max level of likeness, it may not be released. I wouldn't release it, just throw it in the PC and don't get it out again. You won't have to use it and it's only taking up one slot. Hope I helped!
     
    You can't release a Pokemon with Surf. Whether your team has more or not, you can't. Go to the move deleter and delete it, then release it.
     
    Just Surf because it's needed badly ingame. It won't let you lose it once you've got it.
     
    ...But... You could just re-teach it, can't you?
    Why did they bother?
    I mean, if it was your only surf Pokemon in your box, then that makes sense. But not being able to release it just because it has a HM move... >_>
    Why do HMs have to be so complicated?
     
    Okay, I think this is the reason, as said before:

    The game will ONLY allow you to release a pokemon that knows an HM move IF ANOTHER POKEMON KNOWS IT. So your tentacool won't leave until you teach surf to another pokemon.
     
    Thats odd... I hAve rerleased pokemon with surf before and have had no effect.
    Mabey its because all my pokemon hate me (Well its true, I like having lowest relationship level so I can use frustration, I dont want their love, I want them to fear me!! MUAHAHAHAH!)
     
    That's happened to my Poochyena when I didn't like the nature it had (it has increased SP def but low Atk). I think it's got something to do with the moveset.
     
    Well I do have one suggestion but it involves using gameshark. Using the Battle Factory method helped me get rid of bad eggs in my PC. Unless you go on VBA then i dunno how to get rid of it. If this is on VBA, I can PM you the gameshark code if you like.
