Does anyone know how to remove HMs from fire red like metapod did in his ash grey hack
    Thanks in advanced!

I haven't played ash gray, however, what the difference between not using them versus not having them? You don't need to remove anything that doesn't need to be removed is the lesson here :D

The point is to add an item that is given to you once you beat a gym leader. This item could be used to cut down a tree, rather than a HM which you have to waste a Pokémon's move slot on.
some HMs would remain though, such as fly and surf. This is going to be a fire red hack by the way.

Basically I would like to replace:
    HM cut with an axe
HM flash with a torch(flash light)
HM rock smash with a pickaxe
I am not going to use rocks that need HM strength or waterfalls

Oh, in that case you can just decompile the existing scripts and just modify them!
Trees, rock smash rocks, strength rocks all have scripts attached to the objects. The harder one would be flash. Maps themselves have a property which allows the use of flash, so there's a start. I'm pretty sure it's been done before, but it will take little bit of research on your part.
