@ akaKidder, as far as I know, yes.

Ok let me ask a question too :D
First of all: I don't EV/IV breed
I could try to breed for Egg Moves though

Mostly I just look things up on Smogon if I don't know what nature I want

I don't have any items to attach to my pokémon / don't know where to get all those

I've only had 2 Pokémon planned out for my team yet

(I restarted soul silver, am in ecruteak city and I'm trading and breeding like crazy)

Lanturn
Modest / Volt Absorb
Rain Dance
Surf
Thunder
Aqua ring

Venusaur
(No idea for the nature yet, still in doubt, I want it to be some sort of tank with high special attack)
Sludge Bomb
Leech Seed
Petal Dance / Solar Beam (Egg Moves) I'd love energy ball though, but well that's battle frontier
... No idea for this slot...

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

RE: Egg moves

I would be very grateful if you could tell me how I could breed the following egg moves - what pokemon I will need etc. I've looked at serebii, but don't understand the actual process.
  • Axew - Counter, Night Slash & Iron Tail
  • Deino - Ice Fang, Earth Power & Dark Pulse
  • Litwick - Heat wave
Thank you :)

I registered for this site a long time ago and I don't remember even registering here, but meh. I'm looking for a moveset for Chandelure, Volcarona and Archeops. I'm not a complete noob at competative gaming, as I have played many 4th gen battles, but I'm clueless as far as 5th gen. So far, I have Flamethrower, Energy Ball, and Shadow Ball on Chandelure w/ no clue on the last move, Bugbuzz, Quiverdance and Heatwave on Volcarona, (got him with those moves) and Acrobatics and rock slide on Archeops. I have no idea for items.

So after playing Pokemon for several years I finally decided to get into online batteling. My problem is because I don't "EV" train my Pokemon I tent to almost always lose. How do you EV train and how do you know if your EV training is going good? For example, I know that Patrats/Lilliups give you an attack bonus. I spent an hour killing these and I didn't notice no change in my Attack Stat. If anyone can help I'd truly appreciate it! :classic:

EV training, my friend, is a whole nother game. Your best bet is to google "Smogon EV" (won't let me insert links). Read the D/P one, it's the same.

This is competitive fourth gen? What metagame are you playing?

...if you're playing OU, I think you might find these Pokemon incredibly unsatisfactory in regards to how well they might perform. :(

You can look at our threat list for ideas for movesets if you're having trouble. Just press CTRL+F and search for your specified Pokemon and results should show up. All three of those Pokemon only have one or two viable competitive sets, so it shouldn't be too hard to choose.

Oh okay, thanks. I guess I'll try those sets.

whats the best move set and IVs for a zoura or zoroark?

The quest for the ultimate Haxorus

In my eyes, this is the ultimate Haxorus:
Haxorus Lv. 100 - Mold Breaker
Adamant Nature
31 IVs in Attack and Speed
252 Att 252 Speed 4 HP
Dragon Dance
Dragon claw
Rockslide
Nightslash

I'm currently breeding for one. Anyone agree with this?

whats the best move set and IVs for a zoura or zoroark?

Perfect IVs are obviously preferred, but if you can't, max Special Attack and Speed is probably sufficient for most sets.

IMO, the best set for Zoroark is this one:

Zoroark @ Life Orb
Trait: Illusion
EVs: 6 hp / 252 SAtk / 252 Spe
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Nasty Plot
- Dark Pulse / Night Burst
- Focus Blast
- Flamethrower

but you can also do well with this.

Zoroark @ Choice Specs
Trait: Illusion
EVs: 6 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Dark Pulse / Night Burst
- Focus Blast / Extrasensory
- Grass Knot
- Flamethrower

These two sets take the best advantage out of his ability, imo.

RE: EV training Terrakion

I've started EV training my Terrakion. It is sassy in nature so I don't know if I should EV train it in Atk or SpDef - I've already EV trained it 252 in Spd (fought 63 Basculins with macho brace). I would also like your thoughts on the moveset, at the moment it has:
  • Helping Hand
  • Retaliate
  • Rock Slide
  • Sacred Sword
I'm considering - X-Scissor, Stone Edge, Earthquake and Sacred Sword.
Cheers :)

It's not really competitive, more just ingame
I don't do competition lol
Or am I in the wrong thread for that :o

Okay I went on pokemon.com and got the Espeon.

Can I have a Magic Bounce Set for my Espeon.

Support:
Nidoqueen @ Leftovers
252 HP / 252 Defense / 6 Sp.Def
Bold Nature
Poison Point
Earth Power
Stealth Rock
Ice Beam
Toxic Spikes / Roar

OU Toxic Spikes:
Nidoqueen @ Leftovers
252 HP / 252 Defense / 6 Sp.Def
Relaxed / Impish Nature
Poison Point
Toxic Spikes
Earthquake
Fire Blast / Super Fang
Stealth Rock / Taunt / Roar

The above sets were from Smogon. Some moves aren't available in Gen V and must be obtained from Dream World

I made the this set up:

Nidoqueen @ Life Orb
6 HP / 252 Sp.Atk / 252 Speed
Modest / Timid nature.
Rivalry
Earth Power - Gets neutral coverage on anything that isn't Bug, Grass, Flying.
Ice Beam - Hits Flying and Grass Types, also hits Dragon (most can Fly)
Flamethrower - Hits Skarmory and Bronzong which Earth Power couldn't.
Attract / Roar / Dragon Tail - Just filler moves.

In my eyes, this is the ultimate Haxorus:
Haxorus Lv. 100 - Mold Breaker
Adamant Nature
31 IVs in Attack and Speed
252 Att 252 Speed 4 HP
Dragon Dance
Dragon claw
Rockslide
Nightslash

I'm currently breeding for one. Anyone agree with this?

Dragon Dance
Outrage
Earthquake
Taunt

You will probably want a Life Orb.

Hello, today at the resort desert I found a Timid Magic Guard Sigilyph with the IVs of 11-15/0-6/29/13-16/4-8/6-10.

Is it any use in Wifi Battling, and if so, what kind of set. If not should I save it for later and use it for Power Item Breeding?

Sigilyphy is a decent enough choice in competitive battling if you manage to pull it off right, however you will need to rebreed as with those IV's you cant do much of anything. However, here are the sets it most commonly uses:

Sigilyph @ Flame Orb
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 Hp / 6 SAtk / 252 Spe
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Psycho Shift
- Roost
- Air Slash / Whirlwind
- Hidden Power [Fighting] / Cosmic Power

Sigilyph @ Flame Orb
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 Hp / 6 SAtk / 252 Spe
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Cosmic Power
- Assist Power
- Psycho Shift
- Roost

Sigilyph @ Life Orb
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 6 Hp / 252 SAtk / 252 Spe
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Psyshock
- Charge Beam / Roost
- Air Slash
- Hidden Power [Fighting]

Sigilyph @ Light Clay
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 Hp / 6 SAtk / 252 Spe
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Light Screen
- Reflect
- Air Slash
- Roost

Druddigon @ Life Orb / Choice Band
Trait: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Hp / 252 Atk / 6 Def
Ivs: 0 Speed (only for Trick Room)
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -S.Atk) / Brave Nature (+Atk, - Spd)
- Outrage
- SuperPower
- Fire Fang
- Sucker Punch / Rock Slide / Glare / Dragon Claw

This is its main and by far most useful set. Rough Skin and Rocky helmet are way inferior to Sheer Force and Life Orb? Choice Band, so you should probably use the before mentioned set. As for Empoleon, I suggest

Empoleon@Leftovers
252 HP / 160 Def / 92 SpD / 4 Spe
Calm Nature (+SpD, -Ark)
- Surf / Scald
- Grass Knot / Stealth Rock
- Ice Beam / Stealth Rock
- Roar / Yawn / Knock Off

Would Substitute on Metagross be suicide?

I am debating if not to have Substitute on for the fact of protection from Will o Wisp and to survive a little more late in the game!

Would there be any logic or would it be wiser to use a move like agility and then a better range of moves like Hammer Arm, Earthquake and Meteor Mash for a late sweeper?

Thoughts?
