4th Gen Reserving Pokemon Diamond...

Scratch what i said earlier. I have just pre-ordered from target yesterday, and i got the stylus and a cool looking gift card. I think if you have atleast $5.00 then go and pre-order. It is really worth it, not only is the stylus and gift card cool, but with target they hold your game for 7 days so that you can wait out the crowds before you get it. Plus i'm getting it a day earlier on the 21st. =]

I wonder if I should hold a copy @ Target for a $5 deposit. I wouldn't NEED the stylus, but It'd be cool to have. Do they take your name down? Or is it like a raincheck, where you fill our a form and they give you a carbon copy or something?

I wonder if this means that Pokecommunity is going to get a rush of new members. I'm not going to lie, the whole reason I returned was to talk about D/P.

same here actually lol... i joined right when i heard the news of DP, and since there was an obvious time gap, i've been binding my patience with.... well, look at my sig! =j

Well when you get the card the guy gives you a receipt that says how much money you put on it. Keep it, and when the day comes and you go there show them the card, and receipt for proof of purchase. If you have no receipt they can only vouch for about $5.00. I'm keeping them in a top secret place (under my clothes stack) =] No one will ever know...

I don't really understand the issue with pre-ordering. I mean usually the extras that come with the pre-order really aren't worth it and you can buy the game from a fully stocked store a week later. That's what I did for Pokemon: FireRed and I got the game about 5 days before my friend who pre-ordered it did.

I'll never understand why people pre-order. Importing is another story however.

Well, to tell you the truth, I really don't care about getting the stylus (I'll probably just give it to my friends anyway lol). I only care about which way is getting it sooner; preodering, or waiting until it comes back in stock? I honestly don't know how many people like the Pokemon games where I live (though there ARE quite a few in my school) but I don't want to take the risk of not preordering and then finding out I have to wait until the store gets more games..

So if you preorder you'd get it a day BEFORE it comes out? Then that pretty much goes against what Samson was saying about you having to wait, because you'll be able to get it before everyone else, right? (unless everyone else preordered theirs too lol) and unless you wait untill late on the 22nd or the day after maybe..

That's what the target guy said, and another reason to pre is that the stylus works well with Pokemon ranger for some reason. I recommend getting your pre at target 'cause while your there, they have every single ds game at $24 each. Just another reason the pre there. =D

I'm rather lucky...Since I am from England I would have waited until like June 30th but thanks to ebay I can it the same time as you guys I've already put £100 in my paypal JUST to make sure

Most places that offer pre-orders tend to use overnight shipping on their stock, so yeah, if you pre-order, you should get it sooner. If you really want the game, it's almost guaranteed that you'll have it by release if you pre-order it. You should go ahead and do it, unless I've missed a reason why you can't. o.o;

Same here, i live in england but now i have pre-ordered i should get it at the same time as the usa for a cheap price.I am crazy about this game,i can smell the games in the air.I wonder if ill get the free ds stylus...

I just pre-ordered. They were out of Diamond, so I had to settle for Pearl.

Is it just me or is Pearl looking like the Blue version of this generation? Less people interested...

Anyway, I got my super cool Palkia stylus. Something about playing Metroid with my new stylus makes me rule ten times harder at it.

I love Pokemon.

teehee i knew pearl would sell less... that's why i ordered it! XD

More people chose Red version because it had Charzard on the cover.

Palkia looks weird if you're not used to it. Dialga looks less odd at first, I think.

Plus, Diamond, is the hardest substance on Earth. Definitely more notable than Pearls.

I'm right there with you. Besides ruby I have always bought the less popular or 'blue" version first.

ho-oh says
This is what i know
1. You must deposit 5$ for the reserve
2. for gamestop, you get the stylus after the release of the game. at target, you get the stylus of your choice as soon as you preorder.
3. Usually, pokemon games cost 35$
4. The reserve copy is held 2-4 days after initial release
hope this helps,
ho-oh

But it's always better to pick it up on release day. Some stores will sell the copy they reserve for you if they are out of stock, and hold another copy for you when they get another shipment.

Of course it is. just pointing out the max number of days before the game is taken off hold.

Heh heh exactly why I'm reserving there =)

Same thing with when you reserve other games. Like how I reserved GTA San Andreas and a guy gave me a reciept and I put around $50.00 on it. Yeah , Toys R' Us and Walmart do the same thing but Target is way cheaper =P
