4th Gen Resetting to Hatch Shinys

    What is the best way to do this, ive been doing it by saving about 10 steps before it hatches the resetting if its not shiny, anyone got any better ideas.

    Also how many times on average do you have to reset
     
    Im not certain if this even works, like I dont know if the contents of an egg are pre-determined when you receive the egg. I just hatch a bunch of eggs.

    guess ill have to try that, 50 restarts and no luck
     
    No, dont stop your method. Just checked and it is possible.
     
    You know whats kinda funny, I just hatched a shiny mudkip, Im putting it in my trade thread
     
    I have hatched a Shiny Riolu and of course, Eevee. Good combination i know. I always seem to get shiny's when i least expect them xD
     
    Dang! I'm still soft resetting in my restarted (cause I already have Latios and I wanted to get Latias for my D/P games) Emerald for a shiny Metagross. Still not getting it!
     
    damn, well i just got my Mankey, after 60 resets roughly, if all goes well only another 30 or so until i get a shiny oddish, then i set to work on the fossils i collected last week

    i get a feeling Oddish will be a pain, ive never had a good experience with it
     
    Humm, I found my shiny timid budew at a chain of only 43! I dont have a shiny oddish but I think I would rather chain for it than hatching

    i just cant seem to get chaining to work, i got a Nidoran by fluke I have no idea how i managed to get a chain of 40 without breaking it
     
    how do you know when it's ten steps before hatching?

    helps if you have 2 eggs, reset your step counter, hatch it, then on the next egg, when you get to -10 of your previous total, save.

    Walk the ten it will hatch, if not shiny restart as needed
     
    Hmm, why dony you just walk up to just 1 step left. Anyway, Ill have to start trying this soon.
