Okay so I heard this thing people are going to be resseting until they get a shiny pokemon? What is this and how do you do it?

Well, some people want to get shiny legendary's right? but you can only find one of them in the game, so what you do is you save infront of the legendary that you want shiny, then battle it, if it's shiny catch it, if it isn't shiny soft reset and try again, To soft reset press L + R + START + SELECT at once and it will reset you back to the title screen, and you battle the legend again until it is shiny.

Does this only work for legendaries?

it could also work for drifbloom(sp?) or any pokemon that appear in a sprite form other then that you just need to play for hours on end constantly walking in the grass(or fish or surf) and wait for the time when you will find a shiny.

...Technically it'll work for any pokemon, but...there's no guarantee that you'll encounter the same Pokemon when you reload your game. Besides, the other Pokemon can be found more than once, so there isn't any point in doing so. The reason why people do it for the Legendaries and other set-encounter Pokemon is simply because they can only be found once.

Let me make this clear: resetting to get a Shiny Pokemon does not affect your chances in any way, other than giving you another shot at beating the 1/8192 odds.

Honestly, if you're trying to soft reset to get a Shiny version of a wild encounter Pokemon...you're just wasting your time, batteries, and anyone around you that realizes what you're doing would probably look at you like you're an idiot.

You save in front of a legendary or save in front of where u get the starters. They keep restting until they find a shiny. Easy as cake.

It's a lame and underhanded tactic that has become much more... patience-requiring.
