[Episode Discussion] Return of greninga

I don't think Ash Greninja even counts as Gen 7 promo in the same sense as Zygarde's new forms did, any way. Ash Greninja had no major role in the Sun & Moon games and could only be obtained in the first place via the special demo, whereas Zygarde had a whole subplot in those games and was pretty much a huge promo tool for Gen 7 in the anime, although we didn't know that until much later in the Kalos saga.

What do you mean "finished a year earlier"? XYZ - aka the saga that introduced Ash-Greninja - ended on October 27, 2016 (I'm not counting the two XYZ specials that aired after that because they weren't technically part of the main series). That's not a year's difference.

Oh you're right, I thought the english anime ended 2016 and the japanese 2015, my bad.
 
Right after the vanishment of ex-Team Flare from the sight that leads to their defeat, if Greninja would've been about to pass away at the Kalosian Pokémon Center from its illness due to excruciating weakness that had resulted from its loss of Ash-Greninja bond phenomenon due to Ash releasing it, the Pokémon Center Scientist is however about to bring Greninja back to life with restoring its entire old Ash-Greninja bond phenomenon and old strength back, so this prevents it from its passing by illness. Once Greninja has been brought back to life right after ex-Team Flare's defeat, everyone will praise it and Squishy and Z2. Greninja then bid its farewell to Squishy and Z2, so that they float back into the sky, and Greninja will come with Goodra to arrive at Professor Oak's Laboratory, while Florges will be charge of Goodra's ex-homeland with her intelligence. That's all.
