I started playing when Pokemon first hit the shores of the UK, and then stopped when it became 'uncool' and i was foolish enough to care lots about what other people thought of me..
So the last time i played the TCG, it was about 8/9 years ago..

Anyway, me and my friends have decided to get some decks together.
I have been playing the GB games on and off over these interim years, but otherwise, i'm a little lost of some of the new pokemon.

But regardless.. here's my attempt at a Psychic/Fighting deck.
    Looking at a 20:25:15 ratio of Trainers:Pokemon:Energies

    Pokemon
    2 x Uxie (LA)
    2 x Gardevoir (PL)
    3 x Abra (2Sabrina:1Rocket)
    2 x Kadabra (1Sabrina:1Original)
    1 x Azelf (LA)
    3 x Ralts (PL)
    2 x Kirlia (PL)

    2 x Claydol (GE)
    1 x Hitmonchan
    1 x Hitmonlee
    1 x Onix (DP)
    2 x Lucario (UN)
    3 x Riolu (PL)

    Trainers
    4 x Bebe's Search
    2 x Roseanne's Research
    2 x Call Energy
    1 x Imposter Oaks Revenge
    2 x Research
    1 x Rival
    2 x Great Ball
    2 x Potion
    2 x Super Potion

    6 x Fighting Energy
    9 x Psychic Energy

In that list i've only got 18, not the 20 Trainers i'm after. Being out of the game for so long, i'm a little baffled by all the new cards and the Supporters and Stadiums..
So any advice in that area in particular is appreciated!
But any advice on the list in general would be much appreciated!

Other than the fact that the deck isn't modified legal, it looks like you forgot to include Baltoy in your deck list.

You're right, that's not a bad card to have!

What does the 'modified legal' bit mean? i've no intention to play any tourneys, but it's alright to just play with friends?

d/w i've just looked it up. shouldn't be a problem, not intending to go to any tourneys!

    Cheers

A cool card to have in this deck would be Uxie Lv. X. It's a pretty cool Lv. X and takes advantage of the fact that you already have Uxie LA in for draw power anyway.

I assume you have Claydol GE in because of its PokePower?

Not a bad trainer list. May be some better options out there, but not bad at all.

Which Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee are you using?

Yeah, I thought the pokepower was good enough to include it.

    As for the Hitmon-'s At the moment;
    Hitmonchan (LA) &
    Hitmonlee (CL)

Unless you can suggest better ones to use? they just happened to be ones I could easily get hold of.

I'll check out the Uxie Lv.X too! thanks

It should be the only reason you include it. And it should be one of your first priorities to get it on your bench so you can use its power to get everything else faster. Talking about Claydol here.

I'm iffy on including any version of those cards (Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan), but that might just be my mindset from the recent formats where HPs have gotten significantly higher on the strongest Pokemon.

Also, keep in mind that A Pokemon can only evolve from the Pokemon specified in its "Evolves from _____" text, meaning that Sabrina's Kadabra cannot evolve from a regular Abra. It would have to evolve from Sabrina's Abra. Just so you're aware.

I think a card worth looking into (but it might be out of your price range if you're already looking into Uxie Lv. X, and you would need some Mewtwo in your deck to use it) would be Mewtwo Lv. X. It's a pretty cool Psychic card that has a Poke-Body that basically forces your opponent to take it down with an evolved Pokemon. Though it isn't very energy efficient at all.

Along this line, another cool Lv. X card to look into is Gardevoir Lv. X, which can make itself the active with its PokePower, and has an attack that knocks out your opponent's Pokemon with the lowest HP for 2 Psychic Energy.

If you couldn't tell, I kinda know a lot more about cool Psychic type cards as opposed to cool fighting type cards. :P

Ah, I didn't know that about Abra/Sabrinas Abra evolution stuff. i'll bear that in mind! I prefer the Sabrina Abra/Kadabra so i might have to pick up some more of them.

Good thing it's payday tomorrow, as it seems there's some cards I need to buy!
I'll pick up the Gardevoir Lv.X and Uxie Lv.X i think.. can't turn down 2 energy knock out!

I can always drop the Hitmon-'s for them.
Any advice, even if it's mainly Psychic focused is welcome! I prefer Psychic types anyway!
