Returning Player

Hey everyone!

I've been a long-time Pokemon fan, but I'm coming back to the video game portion of the franchise after several years of leaving it alone. I'll be receiving a 2DS with a copy of Pokemon X in the mail soon, and was wondering what I've really missed or if there are any major changes in the games that I should keep in mind while playing.
The last game I played was SoulSilver, but before that was the original Silver for the GBC.

I miss playing my Pokémon Y and OR due to not having my 3ds with me right now. Had to leave it at home because I currently busy studying and my 3ds is currently broken. Glad that you're back for more adventure and feeling a bit jealous that you are able to enjoy your journey in Kalos.

The most obvious things you might have missed are the introduction of the Fairy type (which is super effective against dark, fighting and dragon and weak to poison and steel) and Mega Evolutions which require a held item to be used during battle.
