Review Thread

i will do one.
Shadow the Hedgehog
PS2
Visuals: 8/10
good graphics, some were used from Sonic Heroes also. the graphics were very good, even in the fmv sequences when you complete a level.

Sound: 9/10
pretty good music, and the voices were good also, even the gun sounds were kinda realistic.

Control: 9/10
kinda easy controls, but sometimes hard to forget what button is for what.

Gameplay: 9.5/10
good gameplay, lots of levels to complete as well with sub bosses in a few of them.

Replay: 8.5/10
you can play the game over and over again. there is a few endings with this, and in total, there are 326 routes you can choose from.

Overall: 8.5/10
Great game for great value. other people are giving it 4 and 3 and they cant even judge on a cocktail stick! they even voted one of the worst games in 2005! my foot!

Call of Duty 2 (PC)

Visuals:
9/10
Most realistic visuals I've ever seen, only problem with it, is the soldiers that are dead, the all seem to land in one of maybe 5 positions.
Sound:
10/10
Let's say a soldier to the right of you is talking, it doesn't just come out of every speaker, it comes out of the right one! It sounds realistic, grenade explosions sounded VERY real.
Control:
9.5/10
Easy controls, click here, click there, only little teeny problem was having to rifle butt your enemy while moving.
Gameplay:
10/10
Although there wasn't many levels, they all lasted a good 10-25 minutes. And everything that happens is unexpected (unless it's obvious =P) for instance when a British soldier kicked the door down and was made into swiss cheese. (I'm bad at reviewing Gameplay ;; ).
Replay:
9/10
Doesn't get old, online multiplayer has many different game types and maps, you just can't get tired of blowing up people over and over. XD
Overall:
10/10
Average:
10/10

Three Pros:
1.Great graphics
2.Historically(SP XD) accurate
3.Many guns to choose from
Three Cons:
1.ANOTHER war game
2.Can get a little confusing
3.No blood on the ground on 1P.

Hee... Now, time for one review from me!

Paper Mario (Nintendo 64)

Visuals: 10/10

What can I say? The visuals are PAPER-ISH, yet however most of the scenery (fences, doors, houses, General Guy's Tank) are 3-D. The Paper thingies are 3D too, but they are made FLAT, VERY FLAT to look like Paper guys. Anyway, for me, it's perfect.

Sound: 10/10

OMG they are awesome. The sound effects and music are a MUST to listen! The list of music you will REALLY want to hear over and over again (probably):

Tubba Blubba's Battle Theme (?)
General Guy's Battle Theme (Keeping Pace)
Huff'n'Puff Battle Theme (Huffing 'n' Puffing)
Lava Piranha (second form) Battle Theme (?)
Crystal King Battle Theme (Freeze!)

And I pretty like something like that:
For example, in Toad Town, there is, 'kay, nowmal (I meant normal) music, but if you go close to the sewers, several more drums will be heard in the music. Or, in Dojo, where you fight Chan the Buzzy Beetle, Lee the Duplighost and The Master, you can hear several punch & kick SFX and "oomph!", "ouch!", etc.

Control: 10/10

Controlling Mario, his attacks & his Partners' (more on Partners later) attacks, is very easy. However it becomes more complicated when you get the Star Necklace (or sumthin' like that) in Chapter 0 (Prologue, or was it Chapter 1?), because when you attack, there'll be Action Commands.
X-AMPLE: When you use a Hammer Attack, hold left until the red star lights, then release. It will result in a stronger attack.
Anyway, it's easy enough.

Gameplay: 10/10

The game is very long to get 100%, and also long to not get 100% but finish the game. There are 9 chapters:

Chapter 0: (Prologue) A Plea From The Stars (Big Boss: King Goomba)
Chapter 1: ?* (Big Boss: Koopa Bros.)
Chapter 2: ? (Big Boss: Tutankoopa)
Chapter 3: The "Invicible" Tubba Blubba (Big Boss: Tubba Blubba)
Chapter 4: Trials In The ToyBox (Big Boss: General Guy)
Chapter 5: Hot Hot Times On Lavalava Island (Big Boss: Lava Piranha)
Chapter 6: ? (Big Boss: Huff 'n' Puff)
Chapter 7: ? (Big Boss: Crystal King)
Chapter 8: ? (Big Boss: Bowser)

? - means I don't remember it (the name).

Throughout the game, you also spot Partners:

Ch. 0: Goombario, his specialty is telling you about places and enemies and headbonking his enemies. He is a Goomba with a blue cap.
Ch. 1: Kooper & Bombette. Kooper is a blue-shelled Koopa. His attacks are shell shots. Bombette is a pink Bob-Omb. Her main attacks are exploding.
Ch. 2: Parakarry. He is a Koopa Paratroopa postman. His strongest attack is Air Rush, or something like that.
Ch. 3: Bow. Bow is a green Boo lady Mario spots in the Ghost Mansion. She is arrogant a little and her specialties are: making Mario invisible, or slapping the enemy and scaring them.
Ch. 4: Watt. Watt is a, uhm, lantern spirit Mario rescues from the Big Lantern Ghost in the ToyBox. Its specialty is paralyzing enemies.
Ch. 5: Sushie. Sushie is a purple Cheep Cheep with eyes always like Gulpin. Her specialty is getting Mario defense and flushing enemies with water.
Ch. 6: Lakilester. He is a Lakitu with shades. His specialty is throwing Spiny Eggs.
There are no more Partners. Also, throughout the game Mario rescues Star Spirits. Each Star Spirit is rescued by defeating a Big Boss. There are 7 of them. I don't remember them all, but I remember the 3rd one is Skolar, a purple star with glasses and he can summon a Star Rain to damage your foes. The game is long and fun anyway.

Replay: 7/10

There is not much to do after you "beat" Bowser. He is never defeated after you beat the game. But you always can go back to Tayce T. and make new recipes. xD And there are zany many of them.

Overall: 10/10

If you have a N64 but not have this game, you WILL want to buy it. It's just a must. (oops, rhymed!)

Average: 10/10

Three Pros:
Super music & SFX
Recipes!!!
Paper-ish graphic!
Three Cons:
Didn't spot ANY con!

Donkey Kong 64

Donkey Kong 64 (Nintendo 64)

Visuals:
8/10
Why an 8? Well the graphics were pretty darn good for a N64, although up close things were...not good, from a distance(third person view) it looks great.

Sound:
7.5/10
Sound wasn't too impressing, but was pretty good, the music was fun, and attacks sounded pretty wacky. But the kongs and enemies made the same sounds over and over

Control:
8/10
Fairly simple, but remember which "C" button to press could be kind of annoying.

Gameplay:
9/10
Many levels to choose from, and with 5 characters each with at least two things to do in each, it'll last you awhile.

Replay:
7/10
After you finish the game or get stuck, it gets boring. And it can be repetitive at times. And you can run out of things to do...

Overall:
8.5/10
If you like the Donkey Kong series, you'll love this game, it has 5 Kongs all with abilities and weapons of their own.
Average:
7.5/10

Three Pros:
1.Fun levels
2.Many levels to choose from
3.5 Kongs to choose from (after unlocked).

Three Cons:
1.Repetitive
2.No voices except for attacks (that's N64 for ya!)
3. N/A

Not my best review, enjoy. =)

Time for review! xD

Rockman.EXE 3 Blue/White

Visuals: 9/10

Your typical GBA graphics, though they're really nice. Methinks you will like them. If you'll play it, of course. They're the same style as RME 1 and 2, though the Evil Navi sprite is changed. To UFO-ish style...

Sound: 10/10

GOOD. VERY GOOD. GREAT. AWESOME. PERRRRRRR- *cough* -FECT. xD You WILL like them also, if you play the game. Especially the boss music and the Secret Area music (seems like you're in heaven, really). And the sound effects are awesome too.

Control: 8/10

For the last time I say this... Newbies may have some troubles, 'cause ^+> is ^ in Rockman's world. However advanced ones will not have any troubles. But it's pretty easy anyway.

Gameplay: 10/10

Long & Fun - these two words describe the gameplay. You go through many scenarios with many bosses. The bosses are...

S. 1: Flashman
S. 2: Beastman (in Blue, you can also challenge Punk, Mr. Famous' navi to battle, and in both versions you can also challenge Metalman, Tamako's navi)
S. 3: Bubbleman
S. 4: Kingman & Desertman
S. 5: Puffball & Plantman
S. 6: Flameman
S. 7: Drillman
S. 8: Forte & Alpha

Also, in scenario 2 you get Navi Customizer, which can alter the abilities of your Rockman.

Replay: 9/10

Hmm... it's pretty good. After you beat Alpha and get the 1st Star ID, you may access Secret Area. In there, there are very strong viruses, Serenade's Time Trials, and many rare chips. And... Oh, completely forgot - there's also a Bug-Frag Trader. And, there also are some secret bosses:
Darkman - 1st gate
Japanman - 2nd gate
Serenade - end of the Secret Area 3
Forte GS - put in 300 bugfrags in the trader then go away (jack out), jack in again, and he'll be there.

Overall: 10/10

A must buy for Rockman fans.

Average: 10/10

Three Pros:

New chip system
Very many chips
Secret area and many Star ID missions

Three Cons:

No Punk in White
Sometimes the scenarios are too hard
The best P.A. is executed with 4 MEGA CLASS chips, and you can have only 5 in your folder (without proper Navi Customizer progs, of course)

Gta: Sa

Another review! XD

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PS2 & Xbox)

Visuals:
9/10
I expected a little more out of SA, the guns are nice and all, but they seem to poke through people, which brings me to the people, everywhere you turn at least two people look exactly the same.

Sound:
8/10
Wasn't too impressed with the sounds, everyone keeps saying the same thing to you when you bump into them or something, but the radio, has a very large variety of songs and commercials.

Control:
10/10
Easy, same as last couple of games, and you probably won't struggle on how to do what.

Gameplay:
9.5/10
Long and pretty darn fun. It will keep you playing your PS2 for awhile.

Replay:
8/10
Can't say much about replay, you'll want to play every so often after you're bored of it, but it is fun when there's nothing to do.

Overall:
9/10

Average:
8.8/10

Three Pros:
1.Fun and long lasting
2.Alot of guns to choose from
3.Alot of cars to steal

Three Cons:
1.People look the same
2.People say the same thing alot
3.Guns go through people

I have a review!
NeoGeo Battle Coliseum- PS2 Import

Visuals:8.8/10 The graphics of the stages are are highly detailed, for they are mixed 2D and 3D. Some of the characters look good, but others like the main character Yuki, are not that good looking, as the sprite doesn't look exactly detailed as his picture on the cover and the select screen, his hair don't match and the sprite dosen't look like it matches at all.
Sound:10/10 The music is really good, as you can pick from two versions of the music, the Original Arcade version or Arranged.
Control:10/10 If you know how SNK fighting games go, this is real easy to play, and the specials for each character are real easy to pull off.
Gameplay:9.5/10 If you import games and have a import ps2, this will keep you busy for a while, since there are 40 characters and about 5 different modes. Arcade, Tag Mode, Survival, VS, Practice Mode. And Arcade and Tag Mode have different requirements to get to one of the 4 boss characters: Orochi/Mizuchi, Shin Shishioh, Neo Dio, and Goodman. Depending on which requirements you meet, that what determines your final match. Here's requirements for Tag Mode for it is real easier than Arcade mode's requirements:
Orochi/Mizuchi- don't get any requirements matched and you fight him.
Goodman- 6 Dual Assaults and up, with no timeups
Neo Dio- 3 Dual assaults and up with at least one timeup
Shin Shishioh- few Dual Assualts and many timeups lead you to him.
Replay: 8/10 This might get a little boring for a while after you unlock the 6 characters, but if you have friends over and such, you can play versus mode, or have fun in the other modes when there isn't anything else to do.

Overall:9.5/10
Average:8.8/10

Three Pros:
40 characters to choose from
great specials and double attacks
great fighting system
Three Cons:
Import only
no Single Mode for only one character except for Goodman
Online mode impossible outside of Japan

Well, that's my first review! Expect one on Beatmania IIDX 9th Style in a few weeks, I'm getting my copy of it today in the mail, and I'm ready to try it out!

:O I cant believe I didnt even post a review for Kingdom Hearts II :O Ahem...

Kingdom Hearts II

Visuals: 10/10
The visuals are insanely awesome. If you thought that it was good in the first Kingdom Hearts, then you'll fall in love with it in Kingdom Hearts II. There is such great detail in every little thing. Especially in Part Royal (POTC world)

Sound: 10/10
I love the sound in Kingdom Hearts II. The OST is even better than the OST for the original Kingdom Hearts (even if you thought that wasnt possible).

Control: 10/10
Once again, much better than Kingdom Hearts. They fixed the camera. Now you control it with the right analog stick. Also, there is this thing called a Reaction button, where you press triangle at the right time in order to do crazy stuff. thing like dodging attacks, crazy combos, and counter attacks. Also, it is now used to open item chests at any time. In KH1, you had to destroy all of the heartless just to open one little item chest. Now, even if you're in battle with a boss, you can press triangle on an item chest and open it.

Gameplay: 10/10
It's much smoother than last time. Like I said before, the reaction button makes things alot more fun and cooler.

Replay: 7/10
Like in KH1, there's not really much to do except to keep leveling up. Also, you can get the Ultima Weapon and beat Sephiroth, if you didnt do that already (is doing that right now). But you can only fight Sephiroth once. So once you beat him, that's all. So you could either keep loading the game over and over again so you can fight him again. Or you can just make a saved game just for fighting him and use the first saved game to continue the game.

Overall: 10/10
This game is just perfect. If you know any better, you should get it.

Average: 9.4/10

Three Pros:
-Much better control
-Gummi ship mini games are actually really fun
-Better gameplay

Three Cons:
-Too short of time of playing as Roxas
-Too easy playing as Roxas
-Nothing to do after beating game

Since I have this game for a while, I might as well right a review about it.

Star Wars Rebel Strike: Rogue Squadron 3

Visuals: 9/10
The majority of Rebel Strike is gorgeous. From the new light-scattering to the advanced particles and huge, detailed worlds. I can't in good faith drop the score because of some stiff animation.

Sound: 10/10
Stunning. Full DPLII and DPLIIx support. Crystal clear orchestrated music and crisp sound effects. It has all the audio from the classic Star Wars flicks.

Control: 7/10
The flight missions controls are very responive and easy to learn. However the third-person foot missions deals with terrible camera angles and targeting at the enemies is very dull and is nearly impossible to dodge their laser that they fire at you. Its is also hard to tell where you're shooting at.

Gameplay: 7/10
Flight missions are still fun, if not exceptional. Outstanding cooperative mode, too. But the third-person foot missions feel clunky and broken.

Replay: 10/10
Two-player cooperative mode alone is worth the price of the game. Beyond that, you've got mostly fun single-player experience and well done versus modes.

Overall: 9.5/10
Great use of the Star Wars license all around. Slick menus, lots of DVD-like extras and unlockables, arcade games, and more. Overall, this is the best Star Wars Rogue Squadron game ever. If you love Rogue Leader, than you'll love this game.

Average: 7.8/10

Three Pros:
Very awesome flight missions and you can now pilot two new vehicles including a Speeder Bike and AT-ST!
Tons of unlockables.
Now its includes a two player coopertive mode!

Three Cons:
Very terrbile on foot missions.
You can only play the prequal of Rogue Squadron: Rogue Leader on co-op mode
Commanding your squad can be quite annoying sometimes.

Sonic Adventure 2: Battle (Nintendo Gamecube)

Visuals:
8/10
The graphics were pretty decent. In the Kart Races though, you could drive through other racers. =/

Sound:
8/10
Sounds get repetitive at times, but good nonetheless...

Control:
10/10
Super easy controls, not hard to learn. xD

Gameplay:
8/10
It has a good variety of levels, but all the same monsters. o.o

Replay:
7.5/10
After you beat one of the sides, it can get boring. So you might see it laying around.

Overall:
8.5/10
It's a pretty fun game, especially if you're a Sonic fan. You can use Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, Amy (In Multi) and some other Echidna. On the Dark Side you can use Shadow, Rouge, Eggman, Metal Sonic, and some other person (XD). Chao battles are fun. There's alot to do in this game
Average:
8/10

Three Pros:
Wide Variety of things to do
Three Chao Gardens
Alot of levels
Three Cons:
Annoying music (some of it)

And Now a review of Mario Kart DS

Sound: 10/10 (Once Again, pretty **** good)

Control: 9/10 (Awkward at first, but easy once you get the hang of it)
Gameplay: 10/10 (Nothing new to be said here)

Overall: 49/50
Average: 9.8/10

Three Pros: WiFi, Retro Courses, 1 player vs. races and battles
Three Cons: Missions, Retro Courses aren't 100% the same as their original counterparts, unbalanced WiFi paly

Red Dead Revolver (Xbox version)

Visuals:
8/10
Good graphics, nice detail on the guns, but running through people falling to the ground dying doesn't look very nice.

Sound:
9/10
I was impressed with the sounds, sure it gets repetitive, but it's funny and guns sound awesome.

Control:
10/10
Easy to learn, not complicated at all.

Gameplay:
9/10
Sure the enimies look alike, but hey, the shooting is all you care about, right?

Replay:
8/10
