How many trainers out there love ribbons?

My Blaziken has a total of 40 ribbons! Ranging from League ribbons in FR/LG to Legend Ribbon from battling Red. Contest ribbons from Sapphire and Platinum. Even obscure ribbons like the Mt. Battle Ribbon in Colosseum and the Best Friends ribbon from Pokemon Amie.

A lot of my pokemon have 30-40 ribbons and I'm so glad that XY brought them back because my 5th gen Pokemon need some ribbon love as well! I've already given them easy ones like the Effort Ribbon and Footprint Ribbon.

Oh and collecting those Daily Ribbons were very tedious in HG/SS and XY, they're much easier in Platinum because the person stays in one place (Sunyshore City).

They're a nice little touch, but personally, I never seem to pay too much attention to them.

For some people, ribbons are indeed fun to collect, and while same does apply to me, in some way, I'm usually not seen trying to do anything to get a hold of these things. They're not all that... significant, really. I suppose you'd be able to show them to friends and brag for enjoyment and whatnot, but what else besides that? Haha.

What would have been nice, I believe, is if there were a way for them to incorporate things like this into the plot. For example, perhaps they would be able to block an entrance or two here and there, but to pass, you would be required to have X amount of ribbons in total. Forcing people to collect them like this might not seem much of a wise idea to some, but it does help raising their importance.
