    I recently got a male Lucario on loan to breed with the my female one, and things seem to be working just fine. The first two eggs I hatched have been male, one of which I'd be using for a future trade. However, I wanted to try and hatch a female Riolu from the third egg.

    I know the odds of getting a female Riolu are only about 12.5 percent, but it's starting to get annoying having nothing but males hatch. I've saved the game at the point where only a few more steps are needed to hatch, since I know the results are somewhat different each time, but it doesn't seem to help any.

    Is there any surefire way of getting what I'm aiming for, or must I leave it all to chance?

    Resetting a few steps before the egg hatch don't help change the gender; the gender is decided when the egg is given for you. Basically all the resetting you've done until now didn't help, you just need to keep making more and more eggs; you'll eventually get there.

    The values of the egg are set when you get them. What you're basically doing is soft resetting for the same Riolu to come out of the egg everytime. You must save BEFORE you get the egg to change the gender like that.

    .........oh...

    Had I known it'd be like that, I probably wouldn't have wasted all that time...

    Ok, if that's how it is, is there any way of manipulating the gender of the egg other than saving before receiving it?

    well you could try and find something for the ar to do that i remember in RSE there was a gender thing but im not sure about DP

    What I do when I want a pokemon of a certain gender is I leave the two pokemon in the day care until I get an egg, then bike around until the egg hatches. And by then if it's not the right gender there will be another egg. Repeat. xD

    Why the want for a femRio? Just get a Ditto. <.<;

    I've hatched 33 rioulu eggs trying to get it shiny and out of the 33 only one is a female i have my whole fighting box in my PC filled with them.
