Rival taking Pokemon

The problem I am having is with an event I wrote. I wanted my rival to take their Pokemon similarly to the way that Gary/Blue does (I choose my Pokemon, the Pokeball disappears. He walks up takes his Pokemon, the Pokeball disappears). I set the conditions so as the event is triggered when the Starter Choice is 0 or above. My problem is that when I enter the lab the event is triggered right away and my rival immediately starts walking. I've tried using both the Autorun and Parallel Process triggers, but no success. I am attaching a png of the list of event commands because I do not know how to copy the text from the list of event commands.

Use "Wait for move's completion" after the "Set move route" command. The event won't continue unless that specific move route is completed.

Thanks P-Sign! The event worked exactly as planned after adding the "Wait for move's completion" command.
