rm2k3-- mana type battle system

    I want to make a game based on the mana series (Final Fantasy Adventure (GB), Secret of Mana (SNES), Seiken Densetsu 3 (SNES, japan only), Legend of Mana (PS1), Sword of Mana (GBA)) but I have no idea how to get the sword slashing to work. Everything else I can probably do through common events and variables. Will someone experienced with the mana series please help me?
