Well hello, as you can see I'm e4darthteej. I'm new to both Pokecomunity and competitive battling, but I'm going to do my best at both.
Without further ado my team is: Luxray, Blissey,Skarmory, Gengar, Scizor, and Salamence.
Luxray@Choice Scarf (F) Hasty
Intimidate
200 Atk. 252 Sp. 52 Sp. Atk
Superpower
Fire fang
Thunderbolt
Thunderwave
It's the Leading Lady Luxray! No one gets in her way! Luxray's purpose is to shut down the opponents lead, then switch out and fight another day. Superpower causes major damage to anything that comes first, and I can use it against Blissesy, Ttars, and Weaviles later. Thunderbolt removes Gyrados along with any water or flying type that might lead. Thunderwave is used to cripple sweepers that come out first right off the bat. Fire fang deals with all of those Scizors out there. Also If anyone wants to try something like this I've thought up of variations on this set with Flareon(will o' wisp) and Gallade(Will O' Wisp and Thunderwave) but what do I know?
Skarmory @Leftovers (N/A) Impish
Keen Eye
252 HP 200 D. 52 Atk.
Stealth Rock
Toxic
Roar
Roost
This is my supporting Pokemon. Rather than go with Brave Bird I decided that to really stack up the residual damage I'd use a SR--->Toxic---> Roar. Against any wall other than Blissey it ought to do pretty well.
Blissey @ Leftover (F) Modest
Natural Cure
252 D. 252 Sp. Atk. 4 HP
Calm Mind
Thunderbolt
Ice beam
Softboiled
And speak of the devil! This spot was originally taken by Slowking, but three ghost and dark weaknesses is too much. Basically the strategy is to pull off as many calm minds as possible and then attack. The max defense evs are so that I can stay in against any physical attacked that comes my way. I've already got the electric coverage with Luxray, so I figure that I can use flamethrower to help with steels. Ice beam takes care of Salamence and the possible defensive Dragonite that I've seen being suggested.
Gengar @Life Orb (N/A) Timid
Levitate
252 Spd. 252 Sp. Atk.
Shadow Ball
Will o' Wisp
Focus Blast
Hidden Power(Fire)
Pretty self explanatory. I use Shadow Ball for STAB and Focus Blast to deal with those pesky dark types. Will o' Wisp cripples physical sweepers and, when used in Tandem with Luxray's Twave, paves the way for Salamence. Finally HP Fire deals with all of those steel types.
Scizor (N/A) @Choice Band Adamant
Technician
248 HP 252 Atk. 8 Sp.
Bullet Punch
U-Turn
Superpwer
Pursuit
Ah here it is. Scizor! the new hot thing in competitive battling. You all know the uses for it, so there's no reason to explain. You know, Scizor becoming the so great is really a great example of a win/win situation. It's totally awesome and it's great at battling, you get to use your favourite AND use a high OU. Everybody wins!
Salamence @Perism Berry/Life Orb (M) Naive
Intimidate
252 Atk. 252 Spd.
Dragon Dance
Outrage
Earthquake
Fire Blast
This is also pretty self-explanatory. I bring it in once the field's clear of anything that could take it down, use dragon dance, and BAM! instant sweep. What I'm wondering about though is the last move slot. It's obviously meant to take down Skarmory and Bronzong, but I could see some other uses for it. If anyone has some suggestions, well, that's why I made this thread.
So that's about it. The ETA on this team's completion is in in about two weeks give or take, and rest assured that once it's done I'll be on the quick battles thread faster than you can say newbie. So rate mah' first team please, and I'll see you on the battlefield!
