Well right now i am having troubles opening rmxp, when i try i get this:
"Failed to obtain a trial serial number from the nTitles server"

    Any help?

This generally means that you are either not connected to the internet on the computer that is attempting to run RMXP, or that you are using Windows Vista (or possibly 7, though I haven't had that problem with 7) and are not using the right compatibility mode. I'll assume that you've got the internet since you were able to post here, so try the instructions in this thread and see if they help.

In general, though, you really need to provide more details about any problems you're having--the OS you're using, anything else you might've tried or think might be contributing to the problem, etc.. For example, if you aren't using Vista then I really don't know what to tell you based on what little information you've given.

Hm. Well, for starters, have you actually tried changing the compatibility mode? I don't believe I had to when I installed RMXP on my copy of 7 (though I did run into the error briefly because our internet was borked at the time), so I'm not sure why it's throwing you that error if you do have an internet connection. See if changing the compatibility mode helps.

Additionally, is this a legitimate copy of RMXP? I know discussion of illegal cracks is generally frowned upon here and whatnot, but never having worked with the illegal versions, for all I know it could be a problem with Postality Knight's Edition or something.

I think the major illegal version circulating around the internet, "Postality Knight's Edition", should actually say that that's what it is somewhere in the zip file you downloaded, etc.. If it doesn't say that, and/or if you actually downloaded it from Enterbrain's official website or a large Enterbrain game maker community like RPG RPG Revolution or similar, then you've probably got a legal copy.

I'm not really sure what else to tell you about the errors, then, other than googling something along the lines of "fix ntitles server error windows 7" and seeing if anything comes up. As I said, it worked just fine for me, so I wouldn't know how to fix it. Sorry.

EDIT: Hm... actually, I suppose it's possible a firewall or something could be blocking the program's access to the internet. See if temporarily disabling any firewalls helps. If not, then... yeah, I got nothing.
