Nope, I'm using VX Ace and various different scripts from here and there, including a few from Crystal's "Pokemon for Ace" engine.
I'm trying to keep a full list of what I've been using on the first page, under Credits.

Thank you! I'm glad that you think it looks good. :)
Progress: Doing mapping and eventing for the various cities. Pewter, Viridian, Pallet Town, finishing out the first mission you do with Redra, and doing facesets for the recruits as well as the 3rd and final Lieutenant.
(By the way, I'll also be out of the country for two weeks starting on Monday, so internet may be something I don't get to have for awhile. )
I've also mostly finished the faceset for the first batch of recruits. Most of them will have two 'faces', one for before they're recruited, and one for after you have them under Rocket's influence.
So far, I think your game looks pretty neat, I like the concept of the game, and I look forward to playing this, when I get a small break from working on my own game :)

This is awesome! I always wanted to join Team Rocket and now I can. ^^
I really like how the moves get stronger the more often you use them. Did you come up with that system yourself or was it already available in the engine you're using? (Just curious) Either way, it's a great feature and I've wanted to see something like that in a Pokemon game for quite some time now.
Keep up the good work! I'll be looking forward to playing more of your project.

I've been using Fomar 0153's "Learn Skills by Usage" script. And, because of this message, I went and checked the original Crystal Ace to see if it's part of that engine.
It isn't used in Crystal Ace, but while looking I think I found a script that fixed the party member appearance glitch I'd been having! So thanks for giving me a question that helped me find something I needed! Very lucky.

So, it's been just about 4 months since the last update, and in the next few weeks I'd like to post... well, not a full update, but a half update.
Something like version .2.5 instead of version .3.
This will include a mission with Redra that can be completed numerous ways, the ability to mutate the first form of either your Pokemon, the Bike, the option of changing the speed of the ATB system, the Party change, a few new sidequests, and a few recruitable members of Team Rocket, the Trinket/Cheat items, some Accessories that will improve your Pokemon's stats, and the Skill Tracker that shows how close your Pokemon is to learning a new move.
...As well as maybe other stuff that I've forgotten. I did a lot.
Because there is so much new stuff though, a lot of it involving optional changes to the battle system (ATB/CheatItems/Mutagens/Accessories) or world-wide stuff to keep track of (Bike/Skill Tracker), it will be a bit rough around the edges.
Oh, and I mentioned mutations, yeah? Here is Gastly's mutated form.
Spoiler:
It will make it partially bug-type, which affects the types that it's weak to, giving it access to more offensive/status effect combinations, and also giving it the passive 'Intimidate'.
Intimidate will lower all enemies' attack stat by 5%.
Fun Fact: Its mouth is supposed to be similar to Pinsir's.
If you are continuing your Save : Make sure to interact with the sign between the stairs on the 1st level of the Rocket Base
Pick the 1st option, otherwise all battles will crash your game.
If you're just starting a new game, disregard.
Includes
- A mission that can be completed in one of 5 different ways
- 3 new characters to recruit
- 3 small sidequests
- The addition of Trinkets/Cheat items
- The Mutagen system
- Bike (Found in Cerulean)
- The ability to change your ATB system to Full, Semi, Quarter, or Wait (Default). (Use the computer on the 1st floor of the Rocket Base for this)
- Various new Accessories
- The Skill Tracker, which allows you to see how close your Pokemon is to learning a new move
- Rattata can now learn Quick Attack, Agility, Crunch, Hyper Fang and Super Fang
- And the ability to explore Cerulean and Vermilion, as well as maybe Viridian, Pewter, and Pallet!
The 5 ways to do the mission are below.
Spoiler:
1. The night mission. Choose to steal from the museum at night, there is no variation here.
2. Day, Mt Moon. Either spend time walking around Viridian and Pewter until Redra calls, or head immediately back towards the base, and you'll go through Mt Moon with Redra while dodging police.
3. Day, Gym. Hide out in the Pewter Gym while things calm down.
4. Day, Viridian Forest. Hide in the forest while things calm down, and perhaps save a girl in the process.
5. Day, Pallet. Go home, see your mother, and talk about the things that have changed.
Since there is so much new stuff, including many, many new areas to explore, I bet there will be lots of things I've overlooked.
I will keep an eye on this thread for bugs/mistakes, and probably release an updated version a week from now.
Just got this error message after I beat the youngster on my way away from Lavender Town.
Script 'Game_Actors' line 19: TypeError occured.
no implicit conversions from nil to integer
Edit: Figured out how to get back to base. Did not think I would be able to without battling the youngster.
Edit.2: Just got done talking to the guy in prison, but the scene where Redra is telling you to keep the fossils for right now keeps repeating with no way to get out of the loop.

1: How did you get back to the base without battling the youngster?
2: Okay, I see the problem. The game checks if you went through Mt. Moon, and if you smashed open both of the cases, and if you did both then it skips the rest of Redra's conversation, and will loop it forever.
Instead of going through the underground I went through the building with the guard into Saffron and then into Celadon.
Also, my second save file I did not go through Mt. Moon but into the forest. I have the fossils, the bike, delivered the letter to Lavender town, beaten the copycat, and threatened the old lady refusing to sell her house, but I have yet to see anything about the Mutagen.
While in Vermillion, I also got stuck in two houses before I turned the game off for the night. I'm not sure yet if it is every house but the houses were the fishing guru and a house with an angry guy.

As long as you avoided smashing at least one of the fossil cases, Redra will give you the Mutagen at the end of her mission.
So you don't have to do both of the keypad puzzles, but at least one.

Updated the two downloads with a few fixes.
-If you smash both cases and went through Mt Moon, it shouldn't loop now.
- After you battle Gary in Silph, the battle music should go back to normal - Going through the South Saffron gate will no longer freeze your game (My bad. It will still freeze your game)
- Made the fog in the Lavender Tower a little bit easier to see through
- You should be able to get into the Bike Shop in Cerulean if you want.
- The two houses in Vermilion won't need an action button pressed in order to leave
I've also been working on the attacks, so these two updated downloads will have those different sounds/effects when you use them. When you use Psychic it'lll be very different than if you used Confuse Ray.
There are new attack animations for Guard, Thunderbolt, Poison Powder, Confuse Ray, Hypnosis, Disable, Psychic, Agility, Bind and Screech.
I have tested exactly none of these animations.
Began doing sidequests, so far so good. However, I decided to explore Silph, and it looked as if the Rocket Takeover was in process (when I already finished it). And Redra took care of the President once again. Probably something should be done so as either to prevent access to Silph or just change a few things to make it look like it's been taken over.
Decided to head to Lavender Mart and steal the item, but after I beat the guy who tried to stop me, the game crashed:
EDIT: Game froze when I tried to pass by the guard at the south Saffron Gate.

Huh. There should actually be something to stop people from re-entering that building, it just wasn't triggering correctly. I need to test some switches and make sure fixing it won't accidentally break a later part of the game.
The Mart thing I don't know why it's giving that error. I need to test it.
The gate, I thought I fixed that! But it turns out I forgot to change it to be beneath the character. I will actually fix that this time.
Thank you.

No problem. I'm happy to report stuff to make this game progress ;)
By the way, I decided to start over the game. I'm gonna see if there's anything wrong from that very beginning. ATM I'm at Cinnabar. The only problem I encountered so far was that I got defeated by the lass and she began chasing me (as it was supposed to happen) but I kept losing and when she almost reached the Underground entrance she could spot me from behind a wall and engage in battle with me.
