Utilizing concepts by Alter_Ego, Loki, and parallelzero.

    Thread Moderation

Unlike most forums on PC, all threads in the Roleplay Corner are moderated. Essentially, what this means is that when you post a thread, it doesn't show up right away. Why? The forum mod needs to read it over and approve it so that a number of RPs that do not meet the forum quality requirements aren't released to the public. This is the method of keeping the forum tidy with the least headache, so please bare with it.

Check this thread to see if your RP has been accepted or denied.

    What is a RP?

A roleplay (RP) is essentially a game in story form. You take the role of your own character, and create a sort of story following a plot given to you by the starter of the RP. Your characters will develop through the writing and interact with other characters to make one big fan fiction. However, this doesn't mean you can just make any character and story and go with it. There are specific rules for these aspects, and they are outlined later in this thread.

    Characters
The main point of roleplaying is to become someone else for a while. When you write up a so called "Sign Up" (SU) for the character you want to play, make sure to really think it through before posting it. If you create an angsty, gloomy and dark character, you should base all your decisions in the RP on that. You probably won't go around greeting people in the streets, or cuddle with your pokémon. In contrast: if you create a very naive happy-go-lucky character, you probably won't have the character see every danger coming, or come up with the most clever infiltration plans... carefully plan what type of character you want to play, and BASE ALL YOUR ACTIONS on your character. That is the most basic aspect of roleplaying. The last thing we want to see is a Mary Sue running around.

    Roleplay Corner
The Corner is where you can find new RPs to participate in, or post one of your own. Here you will post mostly In Character (IC) and play out your adventures. Both Pokémon and other genres of RPs go here!

    Roleplay Lounge
The Lounge is for Out Of Character (OOC) threads connected to the roleplays in the Corner. You can make one for your roleplay, for discussion and to better organize it.

    Rules

    >> Note on Double Posting: Consecutive posting is allowed in the Roleplay Forums only if

    1) you are the GM. Game Masters may make consecutive posts in both their own OOC and main threads, if at least 48 hours has passed since your last post. Be sure to keep track of time!
    2) your post has reached the maximum amount allowed in a single post on VBulletin, and can only be continued in a second post.

Any other circumstances must be brought to the moderator for approval before the consecutive post. Because otherwise you can simply edit your last post with the new text.

    >> Note on Thread Revival: If an RP or OOC thread has been dead for one month or more, only the Game Master may post in it and by that "revive" it. If a thread has been dead for two months or more though, nobody may post in it. You better make a new RP thread if you want to revive it.

    1.
Your roleplay will only be accepted if it has an actual a plot. A plot isn't one line describing the world, a plot isn't a tiny paragraph. You need to flesh out your plot, explain the world and the circumstances behind the story!

    2. No script posting. Essentially, you may not roleplay in a format that is reminiscent of a play or movie script. For example:
    Character 1: Dialogue
    Character 2: Dialogue
    Character 1: *Action* Dialogue
In other words, we are not roleplaying as if in a play or drama, we are roleplaying as if writing a novel, or short story. There will be no asterisks or brackets to symbolize action.

Also, you must use proper English. No abbreviating world like 'two' as '2' or 'you' as 'u', etcetera.

    3.
SPAM, like the rest of the forums, SPAM is not allowed, this also includes too many OOC (Out of Character) posts, it's considered SPAM if used to many times. Please create an OOC thread if you feel that you will need to post OOC multiple times. Discussing matters not directly related to the RP is also treated as spam, so please keep your discussion relevant. PMs and visitor messages can both be used to discuss more general topics.

    4. Character control: Character control is…well it's not completely barred, but you cannot take complete control of another person's character without permission. Different RP Master's have different outlooks and opinions on Character control, which is also known as "Powerplaying", "Godmodding", or "Bunnying" and it varies from person to person. One person may allow minor powerplaying, another might ban it completely. Taking control of another members character just a little is acceptable as long as the character's creator has no objections, but taking complete control of another member's character without permission is not. Please pay attention to what you do with other member's characters.

    5. Waiting for an RP to start: Please do not nag the RP creator on when the RP will start, be patient as the RP creator may not be online or may not want to come online at any particular moment. The RP will start when it starts so please, do not nag with posts such as:

"Can we start now?!" or "When will this RP start?!"

Because it's rude and doesn't speed things up at all.

    6.
All RP's must have a rating. More information below.

    7. There is a minimum to IC post length. One-liners will be deleted on sight. More information below.

    8. Advertising: As the rest of the board, advertising forums is not allowed. So if you have an off forum RP, please do not post it here as it will be deleted, and you will receive the standard infraction for advertising. Linking to any other forum, advertising or not, will result in a red infraction.

    9. Stealing is absolutely not tolerated at PC. If you steal someone else's plot, you will receive a permanent red infraction worth 4 points. Note; When reporting stolen plots, please include a print screen of the original roleplay, and please make sure that the thief isn't the same person as the creator. Also, if you are a member of a roleplay that is accused of being plagiarized, your opinion on the matter is respected, but it would be prudent if you didn't PM the mods with your two cents. The right of opposition against being accused of a stolen RP belongs to the RP master, and the RP master only. Should they have anything to say, then there is no need for you to help them say it.

Threads accused of being stolen will immediately be closed, and the stolen content removed at once. They will only be reopened if proof that the roleplay is not stolen is presented.

    10. Please, no "Groups", "Clubs", or anything similar. They will be closed on sight.

    11. If a thread demonstrates repeated offenses against the rules, they will receive a 'thread warning'. If a thread you're participating in receives a warning, please do your best to fix the problem pointed out by the mod. At three thread warnings, the thread will be closed.

    12. Everything that applies to PokéCommunity applies here so keep that in mind and just have fun!

    In Character Post length

Minimum is 1 paragraph per roleplaying post; We are looking for about three to four lines of text on a fluid width skin. (For example, Pokecommunity Pro or Lets Get This Party Startered.) This is partly because an RP easily becomes messy and too fast paced for many, if it consists of whole pages of very short posts. Quality goes before quantity.

    Half paragraphs like
    this, unfortunately,
do not count as a paragraph
    so don't do it!

Here is an example of the minimum length we we are looking for:
Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text Text

This rule applies to all IC threads; not to the OOC threads.
    - Repeatedly breaking this rule merits a 2 point infraction that expires in 2 months.

One-line posts are exceptionally bad and will be dealt with even tougher. You can't fit a good RP post in one single line. No. One-liners will be deleted on sight.
    - Repeatedly making one-liners merit a 3 point infraction that expires in 2 months.

    RP Ratings

All RPs must have a rating attached.

G - RPs with a G rating are meant for all audiences. There are no mentions of drugs, swearing, or strong violence.

PG-13 - The PG-13 rating is required when an RP may contain mention of drugs, and has some violence and minor swearing.

    PG-14
through PG-17 - These ratings contain content ranging from weak to mild blood and gore, swearing, and violence. Minor sexual themes are permitted in RPs with a rating of PG-16 or higher, but not "the act" itself.

(Restricted - The restricted rating is the most frowned upon rating, usually containing unecessary amounts of sexual themes, swearing, and gore. You may not make an RP that is R rated!)

    Moderators

Currently, the forum is modded by Red's Hawt Chibi Pelippers. If there is anything you wonder, feel free to VM or PM.

In case of emergency, you may contact parallelzero, but only if it's really an emergency.
