I would like to welcome the judges and representatives of the participating forums. I know that each and every one of you are considered the best of your forums. You have achieved what new members can only dream of, the skills of writing and creativity. Now it's time to move onto the next step.
Representatives, you are competiting with others with the same abilities and skills as you do. Like you, they too know what roleplaying is and have learned what it means to be a good writer. Like you, they have experience in many different roleplays. Like you, they want to win.
Judges, although you may not be participating, you hold the representatives in your hands. You have been chosen because you're unbiased, fair minded, and know the value of sportsmanship. Although each of you may be from a different forum, you know that the scores you decide will be based on the skills of the roleplayers.
Judging
Like I said before, the roleplayers will be judged on a 10 point scale in which 1 is the lowest and 10 is the highest. Each judge will determine a score for each roleplayer. Each week, the judges will submit their scores to me and I'll calculate the average for each person. Since there are 4 weeks, each roleplayer will have 4 averaged scores, one for each week. These 4 scores will be added up together to form the roleplayer's score. The total score of each representative team will create the forum score. Whichever forum has the highest total score, wins that season of the Olympics.
Scoring
While the 10 point scale is based on an overall score of the roleplayers. I ask that each judge remember these guidlines.
Creativity- Every person is different and unique. Because of that, each roleplayer will also be unique. Judge the participants based on how unique they are.
Length- While sometimes people feel inclined to post a short sentence, the best roleplaying posts are those with detail and length. By taking time to write, the roleplayers show that they have thought about their actions and tried to convey them in a detailed manner.
Activeness- I feel this will not be a major problem in the Olympics, but I have to post it anyway. Roleplaying is an activity meant for interaction between others, otherwise it's a fanfic. Sometimes though, people take several days to post, interrupting the storyline and slowing everyone down. In simple terms, the more active the roleplayer, the better the roleplay.
Style- This is not to condemn anyone. People write in third person, first person, and some in ways unimaginable. This is based more on the use of active verbs and structure of sentences. I'm sure we can all write: "Bob went home. Bob looked up. Bob saw clouds." Yet, I know that the best roleplayers have styles widely more complex than this.
Grammar- I know that I'm not the only one who pounds his head on the table whenever I try to read something and can't because of several grammar mistakes. If you see words missing and tenses shifting, don't be afraid to dock points from their score.
Reality- Now while the gameboy game allows us to practically fly anywhere in a second, in the pokemon world, this is not the case. Instant teleportation (other than the pokemon attack) is not realistic. Judges, while the roleplayers write, check to make sure that whatever they do sounds viable.
Comprehension- If the judges can't understand what you're writing, they can't grade it. Make sure that you check that your posts make sense, otherwise the judges will lower your score based on confusion.
Roleplaying Characters
Here's the form that you'll need to fill out before you begin roleplaying. I would like to remind you that the plot of the roleplay won't be released until midnight on Saturday. You can create your character now, but it might not fit later on. Also, the better your form, the easier it will be for the judges to understand your character.

Roleplay Rules
Like I said, the only rule is that you may not control another person's character or pokemon. Other than that, you may do anything you want in the roleplay. Though, whatever you do, remember that the judges are grading you on it.
If there are any questions or comments, feel free to post. I may not have explained everything as well as I would have liked (I'm only human). Also, when the actual roleplay starts, this is where the judges may ask the participants questions about their posts (though they don't have to).
