Here are 2 questions / suggestions about the Rom-Hacking forum. I think I've asked them before but I didn't get any response so I'll try again.

    1) Helping ::There appears to be a huge amount of confusion about "General Rom-Hacking Questions" and "General Hack Help / Discussions". Half the hackers donot have any idea about where to ask for help and we see a big number of moved threads in the latter which makes the forum look clussy or mettered ( I mean Messy or cluttered.LOL!). Someone should rename the first forum to "Rom-hacking Help center" and the 2nd to "General Rom Hacking / Emulation Discussions". This will surely reduce the amount of confusion prevailing there.

    2) Tutorials ::Too many people request tutorials in the Tutorials forum which is only for the posting of Game Specific Docs or Tut's. Due to the huge moving of threads, again this forum looks absolutely horrible and 2 things could be done to it.
    (i) Moderation queue(is the spelling correct) should be activated in only this forum, for threads. 3 Moderators look at this forum and they can easily distinguish between Tutorials and threads asking for help.
(ii)If not the first, then atleast permission should be given in this forum alone to completely move threads without leaving re-directs behind. This will make the forum crystal clear and also, it will be easy for members to search for specific docs here.

    Thank you

I agree. I haven't been on there much but when I go there it is kind of confusing.

Yes, it is confusing not only for the newbies, but also for the old-timers and veterans and the forum appears "CLOGGED" (I think this is a better word to use). This atmosphere is not at all good and well, newbies wouldn't even want to visit Hacking due to these factors.

    Yup!
    Great suggestions.

I already suggested the tutorial forum thing, but somehow it got burried XD
Good you picked that one up again! ^^

I think it's really neccessary to do something there!

I agree with the tutorial idea. And Jake's right the two forums could be merged together.
Hm... i never really though of not leaving a redirect since on the staff rules form what i rememebr it said we must leave a redirect so i leave em even though i dont like leaving them,. but well see..

Jake, do you really think merging the 2 forums will be a solution? Actually we should have a forum for Emulation Discussion and also for Hacking incs and some general discussions. (Threads like "Legality of Hacking", etc) This is just mah 2 Cents.

Resse, I kinda realised that mods should always move threads leaving re-directs behind. Why not a exemption only for the "Tutorials" forum. The forum will appear very neat and clean then.

It's not up to me to make exections just following rules, I wouldn't mind if Jake says we can make execptions cause the fourm seems over crowded too. Ill see what i can in my case.

Well, that's the reason I started this thread instead of PM'ing you or Jeremy but the thing is that no upper mod other than Jake knows much about Rom-Hacking. So they don't read these kinda threads and post in it. You could talk to senior mods (Jake) and get some rules implemented.

Reese, if you may, move all the incs. you find into the new "Hacking Groups" forum.

A thread approval system has been added to "Tutorials" AND "Hacking Groups". I'm sure you two (Jeremy, Reese) know how to approve threads.
    In regards to Hacking Groups, shouldn't Jeremy/Alex/you/whoever be required to send the thread starter a PM explaining why it was rejected? Not that it's completely important, but it'd be the nice and curteous way. ^^;

Cool Jake, yeah no prob there. ill talk to Jeremy about it and how will run it.

Yay! Atlast some action has been taken at my request. Thank you Jake and that was ruddy quick. I'm sure the forums will be much clearer now.
Edit :: Could the redirects be removed from the Tut forum.

Sorry for Double posting but the need is dire and luckily this thread hasn't been closed. I have one last question::

Do questions about the Tools and Tool Requests go in the Tools or Help forum?

    ~ CC

Why nobody informs me about stuffie? >>

Anyway sweeties, Tool requests go into the Help Forum, and Tools go into the Tools forum, I thinkie. XD

Umm.. does the name Tool Showcase bring nany spark? Its to showcase rules. It is not for asking for tools so no. All tool requests will be moved out of the Tool Showcase and into the help area.

Well that moves bring up another stupid situation...
There will be too many redirects again and so it will be difficult to actually see/find the releases...

Well i can take care of that in a while. That is if I can... but i'll try.

Please try deleting the re-directs in the tutorials forum. Thanks for that Jeremy, now it's a lot clearer.
