[ROM hacking] (Noob) How do i take out gender selection?

I am working on a hack that i would only like the bou playable but im having trouble trying to make it work can someone plz give me some assistance? The rom i am using is FireRed.

You can use this to remove the gender selection. It's in spanish, but it only has 2 buttons, so you won't miss it =P. It's "Load ROM" and "Patch".

Im sorry not to sound dumb or anything but after i get it in drop box how do i activate it?
