Can anyone give me Basic good Tips to improve my RPing.

~ CC

Errr... I'm just popping in to ask...

What is the definition of "power playing" that you all say? Because I've been accussed 2 times of Power Playing. o.o;

I can answer that, 'yu-chan! I hope... X3;

Powerplaying is something what you when control someone else's character to speak, move, strike...you get the point. Acting all powerful is also considered powerplaying, at least I think so.

And who accused you~? I'm rather positive that you never powerplayed before. @@;

umm...is there any problem RPing my characters the way I would in real life?

I'm sure you don't powerplay, Miyu. You've sometimes copied what your RPing buddies had said but it's not counted as powerplaying, IMO.

Ana, I think there is no problem RPing how you act in real life. ^_^ That'll change if you are a bit aggressive in real life but I doubt it. ^^ Roleplaying is all about expressing yourself with your imagination.

Thanks Mari and Lady Pearl~ n_n Cool Cr@cker accused me, and someone else who I don't remember. o.x;

I thought that 'powerplay' was a different definition. n_n; Well... Sometimes I copy and paste the conversation tidbits to put some of my character's input/thoughts. xD; (And to make my post seem longer... >.>; )

Personally, I think that RPing your character the more realistically, the better. Or if (s)he's not realistic, use the writing magic wand. ;D

Actually Miyu I never accused you. I Rp a lot on other forums but on PC i dont much. So I had my own doubts about What exactly is Defined "Power-Playing". Anyway since you are referring to your "Feeling of Betrayal" RP. You can very well check my post there, its not an accuse. I merely asked whether making other characters say "Hi" is considered Powerplaying. And please do not accuse me of accusing you.XD!

P.S Call me CC

Sorry CC... o.o;

But in my RP, I think that you do powerplay... <controlling oter people's characters> You also did that in Lily's RP, Werewolves. >.>;

And in my RP, I didn't make them say hi, I said hi to them. xD;

Certainly to an extent you are allowed to control other people's character, but only if you know how to do so correctly.

You don't put up personalities in sign ups for nothing. It helps the role player know what to make the other character do- their dialogues and actions. People who mistreat it often wind up powerplaying. For example, if a character is supposedly extremely silent and pessimistic, and you make them say a cheerful 'hi!' in your post, then that is controlling other people's characters improperly.

Can you give me an example. I just made the bartender repeat a phrase he had already told.

~ CC

I'm really confised about PP now.

Erm...I think this is an example;

CC~ said:
Retro was about to utter something when he saw the bright moon overhead through a tavern window and heard the sound of a ?WOLF?. As he turned, he saw look on the bartenders face, it was pure terror. He also noticed others around him twitching. He knew he had to do something. He looked around and went to Elves near him. Elves were very skilled in Bows, potions and had some magic of their own. Though mages were not friendly with anyone, he couldn?t accompolish what he thought alone. He whispered to the elf ,?ELF ? Do you know what that sound is.?. As the elf turned around to face him, Retro could find no particular expression on its face, as if it was trying to hide its emotions.
I was positive that 'yu-chan didn't indicate anything about that particular movement. I'm not quite sure, though~ ^____^;

^ Oh yeah..I forgot to mention, I'm pretty sure saying 'wolf' was not part of my plan...but I passively went along with it. ^_^;

Power playing is just the roleplaying usage of other characters incorrectly. You can't make a silent person go all preppy in your post. That's just contradicting the original personality. (Hence why people include that in sign ups.)

(|ooc: I think the definition of power-playing has pretty much been covered, but if you want another opinion on it...

Power-playing: Power-playing is the act of using another players character in any way. It can be something as simple as having them blink at your character, or as serious as having them die. Basically, it is a verified action taken against another character without the roleplayers consent.

But don't quote me on that, because I haven't roleplayed on a proper site in about six months...

And since I'm rusty... If this ever gets back to being in the academy state, I'd like to join as a student...|)

Name of character: Nianeala
Age: 15
Appearance: Around 5'4" with a pale complexion. She has waist length red hair that is always worn in two braids, and very round green eyes that have hints of blue, making them seem almost turquoise in some lights. She has a very slim build, and is usually seen wearing clothing in varying shades of blacks, reds and purples. Her most common outfit is a knee-length, pleated black skirt and a simple t-shirt of an eggplant shade.
Personality: Usually quiet - 'anti-social' - but very sarcastic when provoked far enough. She loves to be alone, but can stand having a few people around.
Student or Teacher?: Student... eh heh... ><

Hewwo! ^___^ I thought you?d need yet another new student to teach in the RP Academy. Wonder who that is? ^^; Well, I thought I needed to familiarize with roleplaying customs and the academy is a perfect region to do so! I have improved on my vocabulary and style but there?s plenty of room to advance and rectify previous mistakes! ^___________^

Character?s Name? ~ Harmony Ritornelle
Age? ~ The mounting age of fourteen.
Appearance? ~ Innocence, the thoughtless whim you?d imagine of her appearance at first sight. Her yearning, moonlight-cerulean optics possess an allurement towards everlasting friendship. Ebony hair cascades down toward her waist with braids of entanglement and streaks of heavenly lavender and pleasant indigo. A pretty, pink bow and an orchid petunia adorn the tress of her hair; bangs grant coverage for her left optic. A gorgeous, lavender kimono with magnificent patterns of pink geraniums descends with formidable length and drags across the ground, yet typical for her runty height. Ebony sandals shield her feet from damage. A beautiful necklace glimmers with an amethyst chip, providing an illumination during gloomy moments. Her pale complexion buttresses an antithesis effect of colors that aids her emphasis of distant view.
Personality? ~ Harmony?s soul is of such rarity than the average nonsense of folks. Her saccharine demeanor regales the sorrowful and provides a simper for one who frowns. She is not the garrulous and treacherous type of girl but the terse and euphoric type. Harmony cares about other living beings and nature rather than herself. Her magnanimous attitude adores to absorb the hatred of beings and to restore the sentimental feelings of tranquility.
Student or Teacher? ~ Harmony is an inquisitive apprentice who resides in a world of imagination and reverie! {~ Otherwise, I'm known as a student in session. X3}

it did. But, of course, nobody could EVER look at a thread that was intended to die without posting in it and forcing the mods to do this:

Closey.
