    Can someone please tell me which is better for making a new Pokemon Game from scratch(not a hack of a rom)? RPG Maker 2003 or RPG Maker XP? Can someone also post a link to a download of RPG Maker 2003 in english (not warez). Thanks I really appreciate it!
     
    I think XP is better, because you can edit the code manually using the script editor. Plus there's a starter kit for XP already, with nearly everything you need.
     
    Thanks. Just a question... When you download the starter set (which I did) how do you put it into the proper RPG Maker XP?
     
    There's a file in it called Game.rxproj. Open that with RPG Maker XP.

    If you want an English RM2K3, just Google it. You will NOT, however, find an English RM2K3 by any legal means. Any English version is illegal. The only way to really get a legal version is buying it from Japan. Of course, Enterbrain really doesn't care if you have an English RM2K3, it's abandonware. Plus, you would be paying way more than you should have to and it wouldn't be English if you imported one from Japan. I know somebody who bought RM2K3, he would know.

    I personally like RM2k3 more because everyone uses the Pokemon Essentials starter kit for XP and every single game looks exactly the same.

    You can tell the ones that have used it and which have not just from the first 15 seconds of gameplay.

    Well, whichever you decide to go with, good luck with your game.
