How do I do it. I want to make a pokemon game, but not use hacking tools because that is illegal. I try to use it and it says it cannot run in 256 color mode or below, or other times it says it cannot run on my screen resolution.

Okay, sonce it's brand new you should be fine. Right click on your desktop (The screen you see when you have no windows open), and select properties. A window with a bunch of tabs at the top will come up. At the top of the window, right below the blue bar, select the last tab on the right. There, you can change your display settings. I recommend setting them as high as you can safely go.

Thank you also look at my signature is it a good storyline

    Please are you still here?

You should have had an option to change in the steps I told you to run before. There should have been an option to to change the color depth. Now this part is a little blind because I haven't run Windows XP in ages, but it you looked there, there should have been a box that says 256 colors. Click that, and a windows will come down that will show you a bunch of options. Anything lower on the list than 256 colors should be fine.
