[Other] RTC help?

    So i recently got an ez flash IV reform 3 in 1, and installed pokemon emerald on it. I also used the DNS tool to install RTC, but all i did was select the rom and press install. Ive put in about 4 hours on the game and seen no difference in the tie of day, and im 90% sure my clock hasnt changed at all. Have i done something wrong? Im completely new to this and have very limited experience with coding.
    Any help would be great!
