The first person I shipped Sabrina with was my own character. XD But even though Will exists in my first fanfic, he and my character share similar character traits. So when I started another fanfic and I didn't want to reuse the old characters, I came back to using Will...^^ And since then, he has been my favourite among the 'official' characters. Sometimes, I still use my self-made ones, though...

I'm skeptical. Shippings that have way too many fans (Pokeshipping...) tend to get uncontrollable...

Speaking of fanfics, I've noticed that Sabrina may be one of the most difficult characters to get right in a fanfic, especially when you want to keep things secret from the reader. She knows too much... you also really can't have her ask any questions, because she already knows the answer (unless she's asking a rhetorical question). She was too powerful as an antagonist, to the point where I had a hard time trying to think of a reasonable way for her to be "defeated." Maybe that's why she had to lose the battle to Ash in such a strange way, because she wasn't going to be defeated normally.

*sighs* Yeah, that's a fact me and Satine (why doesn't she come here anymore? ;-; ) discussed often. It's so difficult writing her that every author makes his own Sabrina in a way.
*takes her own fanfic as an example again* Well, I don't have all of these problems, as I have at least two characters who are as strong as Sabrina- her best friend and later her daughter. XD Often, they block her from mindreading with their own power and the other main characters have dark pokemon to block her.
I also don't have the problem with the "already knows everything and so doesn't have to ask". My Sabrina didn't want to learn how to see the future as this is something *quotes herself* "that shouldn't be known to any human". Knowing the future in every detail would be deathly...
And how I made her "weaker"...well, I kept her "human". She might be a really powerful psychic, but physically, she's quite weak in my fanfic (and almost dies twice...).
I'm not sure...Saffron Gym is one of the official ones, so most trainers would try to get a badge there and if Sabrina's that hard to beat...but well, there're always unofficial gyms. :P

You're right, I've noticed that almost every single author has a different way of writing Sabrina's character. I personally have tried to make her extremely powerful, but having weaknesses towards certain things, such as Dark Pokemon. I also have her using her powers only for good, rather than evil, except of course at the beginning of my story when she was with Team Rocket.

It's very interesting to see where someone will put Sabrina in their story, either on Team Rocket, or as a normal gym leader. Unlike someone like Ash or Giovanni, she's not obviously good or obviously evil, she's sort of in between. That makes her such an intriguing character to write and read about.

With only two episodes and a split personality (pardon the pun), she's bound to be written differently by everyone. Sabrina's not one-dimensional like, let's say, Erika and Surge. And these different versions are the reason I love reading fanfics. You can always compare and once find the 'perfect' Sabrina for you XD.
Hehe, I try the same, as I already said (and dark pokemon are also a weakness of her in my fanfic ^.~).
There's sort of an 'borderline' in my fic. Before Ash's Haunter saved her, most things she did with her powers were bad (even going to far as killing), but after that, she only does good things.

I agree completely. Sabrina's not black or white, she's gray. ^^ (At least if we're not talking abotu Ono's manga, where she's certainly white...)

It's a shame we never got another chance to see Sabrina in the anime, to see what she would be like after her personality returned to her... then again, that could have been a bad thing, because the writers could have made her like any old character-of-the-day, overly nice toward Ash and that's about it.

The Sabrina in my stories is one who seems to keep on changing... a good thing, I think, because she's not static. Anytime you have a character with some sort of inner conflict, that character's usually going to be an interesting one, as she is.

*quoting herself from another thread* *muses about how there was an episode named 'Psychic vs. Ghost! Midnight Battle!' in Kanto BF and the group was near Saffron...* The writers must hate me... XD
Even if the writers made her completeley goody-goody, it would at least have been interesting to see Sabrina at all (and maybe seeing how she lived with ther parents, if she still used her powers and so on).

Hm, yeah, I noticed the changing. XD When I first read your story, I was like "With Team Rocket, against Team Rocket, with Team Rocket...?!?"
Well, characters with an inner conflict have to change, because their conflict drives them on, they're searching for their place in the world, for the right thing to do.

If Jasmine can return to the games, so can Sabrina... we'll have to hope she makes some sort of appearance in the fifth generation.

I personally didn't know where I liked Sabrina better for a while, with Team Rocket or against them, so it went back and forth, but now she's definitely on the good side.

I haven't played D/P, so I don't know Jasmine's role in the games...why is she there and what is she doing?
A nice way of avoiding solid decisions. ^^

Oh, I haven't played it either, I've just read that she's in the game.

For me, Sabrina and Silver are the two most interesting characters to write in my fanfics... even though it's sort of challenging to get Sabrina's character the way I want her to be, it's still fun.

Oh, I didn't know that. I really want to find out what she's doing there, so maybe I could find clues if the otehr gym leaders might play a role again, too. ^.~
Generally, I like to use all gym leaders in my fanfics because they're well known. All gym leaders in one place, like a meeting or tournament, is the best because that's when they have to interact =3.

Oops... I guess I spoiled it for you... then again, we won't know that much until we get to actually play the game anyway.

I like to use mainly gym leaders too in my fanfics, mainly because I like their personalities more than those of the "main" characters of the anime. I'm used to writing tournaments, because I previously wrote quite a few competition-based fanfics for a Super Mario Bros. site, so I of course had to squeeze one into my first Pokemon fanfic.

(Sorry for going off-topic...)

That's no problem. I don't plan to buy D/P anyway...

^^ I also have a big tournament in my fanfic. The league's searching for a new elite four because Bruno's quitting and well, since they got first Koga (gym leader) and then Karen& Will ('normal' trainers) in my fanfic, they're now going again for a gym leader. And guess who wins. ^.~
(I have to admit, my tournament battles almost look boring compared to others...I'm not that good writing Pokemon battles...)

(I don't think we're that much offtopic..we're still talking about the gym leaders and Sabrina's a gym leader, right?)

I could see Sabrina as an Elite Four trainer, if she wanted to pursue that. She could certainly wipe out someone like Bruno with no problem, and most likely she would beat everyone in the Elite Four. Of course, it depends on what circumstances that are required to join the Elite, which aren't ever really defined in any of the games.

The Elite four probably choose their new members themselves and I think they would find Sabrina worthy (especially Will, hehe...). But in the end it depends on if she really wants to leave Saffron City...
(BTW, nice new chapter. ^.~)

Yeah, I think Sabrina would want to stay in Saffron City rather than joining the Elite... I think she would feel more comfortable at her gym.

Thanks... I actually completed the story last week, at 20 chapters, but I've chosen to put up two chapters per week.

Isn't the Indigo Plateau just a small village if not less? I don't think someone who comes from the big city (Saffron) would feel comfortable there...
Whoa, it's already complete? ^^ That's great! But only twenty chapters? Will there be another sequel? XD

Yeah, I didn't even think about the size difference between Indigo Plateau and Saffron City... I guess I always think about the size of the cities in the games, which isn't to scale... no one could walk through a huge city like Saffron in 20 steps! Also, considering I have Sabrina as the heir of a rich family, I don't think she'd rather go to a smaller place.

Yeah, there has to be another "true" sequel... once I got later in the story, I couldn't find a way to connect all the characters like I did the first time, which means several characters I used a lot were relegated to cameos or totally absent. I thought that I would be better off finishing this story and writing another one rather than trying to add in a completely new storyline.

The elite four live literally in the mountains, far away from any other big city. We didn't get to see much from Indigo Plateau in the anime, if I remember correctly, but it wasn't nearly as big as Saffron. I live in a small village myself, but I know from friends who lived in big citys and later moved to the countryside that they found it pretty boring...
Well, she stil has her parents who can care for the house, and I bet that the elite four also don't live in small apartements, but rather in big houses...

^^ It's nice to hear that there will be another sequel! I love sequels (my own story has like four sequels...originally, I planned none. XD)! I also loved how you connected the different storylines in the original story, so I hope you'll manage that again.

Any of you ever been to PokeRealm? In our community project, Pokemon Topaz, Sabrina is one of the Elite Four!
