    Popular voice actor on Pokemon, Maddie Blaustein has passed away in her sleep. She is known from playing Meowth on Pokemon, and other roles on various animes. This is being reported on SPPf by Serebii himself, so it's more than likely truely. To respect her family's wishes, they would like some privacy. Let this thread be the place where we remember her as a voice actor and as a human being who touched the hearts of those who loved her.

    R.I.P. Maddie Blaustein. You will be missed.

    Rest her soul, she was a great voice actor. She honestly was one of the very few good 4Kids VAs. She will always been in the fans' hearts.
     
    This is really sudden. I am actually really sadden by this. She was my favourite Meowth, better than the one before her, better than the one after her and better than the Japanese actor. I'm really shocked, this is really sudden. Did she have something wrong with her? Odd thing is, today I was watching the episode Maddie first voiced Meowth, The Ninja-Poke Showdown :(

    I remember asking her a question in the Q&A thread on Serebii, she said she loved playing Meowth from the first day she got. Condolences to her friends and family, and the fandom will miss you, too. Rest in peace, Maddie.

    At least she got to die in her sleep, the most peaceful way and was not suffering while awake.

    I question the legitimacy of this story, to be honest. Don't lie - you got the news from Serebii, and if you didn't, the site you got it from did. Either way, the only sources that I can find that carry this story are a couple of threads on forums (PC, Bulba), PokeBeach, Serebii and a LiveJournal community. Nothing from a respectable source, and further suspicion is thrown over this by the fact that Serebii and PokeBeach refuses to name their respective sources.
     
    Maybe, but it would be a horribly sick joke if that was the case.

    RIP Maddie(if true) you bought a great character to life.
     
    I just looked on Wikipedia and it said no such thing.....

    Maybe it is a lie.

    You do realise that Wikipedia is even less of a reliable source than Serebii et al? I can't believe that they're citing PokéBeach as a reliable source after the fake Shaymin Sky Forme that PurpleKecleon made was reported as news.

    Well, I don't know if this is true or not, but it's sad if it is true. I heard that they are going to announce the news toomorrow.
     
    Look at Wikipedia now. The death was there, but now it is gone.
     
    She was only 48 years old. Yeah, that isn't young but it's young for someone to die nowadays. So she died in her sleep without warning? I wonder if she had sleep apnea or something?

    At any rate, that's sad.

    EDIT: If she's actually dead that is. It could just be a sick rumor...

    Pokemon pranks aren't uncommon, as it's life. However, if it involves faking a obit, I think the backlash will cost them big.

    Not to mention, when it actually happens, "oh, it's just Serebii.net's screwing with us!"

    What is wrong with this fandom?
