6th Gen Safari Discussion (NOT a FC sharing thread)

I was kinda bothered too with the grassy area being "all the same" and catching water Pokemon like Gyarados, Cloyster and what not just in ... yes, the gras... O_o Would have been nicer in my opinion to just create different safari areas based upon your friend's type.
Something similar in HeartGold/SoulSilver, you had different areas there, with different looks (swampy area with more water-types, desert area with more ground-types, rocky area with more rock-types, and so on). Like, if you would enter a Friend Safari from a friend that has Water-type, make it into a beach or so...
It just doesn't add up at all encountering a large Dargon-like fish in the grass for example... :|

Kinda agree with some of the comments above too, just add a "unique" Pokemon to any friend safari so people would have a reason to add everyone, anyone deserves the same chances, don't make people with Ditto safaris more fortunate with (more) friends than people who have the "bad luck" of just a Safari with obtainable Pokemon in Kalos (for example people who have a safari with Pidgey, Hawlucha and Ducklett or so...).

'nuff said :3

Well, in terms of the features being mentioned in this thread here are my opinions.

I don't think they should have programmed it where to get the third Pokemon you have to be online at the same time. For example, I have my little brother's friend code registered in my 3DS, but he doesn't have Pokemon X or Y. As a result I will never see what his third Pokemon is unless he gets the game. I know that's a minor complaint, but I don't see the point when they could have just given you all the Pokemon since you're already friends with that person. It would just be less of a hassle if they would allow you to just have them right off the bat.

As for the little square of grass, I was a little disappointed with the lackluster scenery. While I know the safari zone has always been about catching Pokemon, part of what makes Pokemon so much fun is exploring the world that has been laid out for you. I know that in every Pokemon game I've ever played I always wanted to continue the adventure to find the next interesting place I would end up. I think what they could have done instead of just the little patch of grass is maybe use the idea from Heartgold and Soulsilver. They could have given each type its own unique landscape, and then you could take like six of your friends' safari zones and chain them together to build your own unique zone. I don't know what everyone else thinks, but I think that would've been a fun way to do it.

Basically, I like the new idea for the safari zone, but I think it could have been executed in a way that would have made it more interesting for the players.
