Nope. I always leave my handheld systems plugged in when playing them. Probably the only wired gaming I do these days. {XD}
 
I had that happen ONCE. Never let it happen again. I had a day to myself when I was younger. Slapped some 'new' batteries from the 'battery drawer' in my GBC and played Pokemon Red until they died. I hadn't notice that the light came on until the last second and I tried to save it but lost the whole thing.
