3rd Gen Saving error in FireRed

Errm, yeah.

I beated the elite four once and then i realized that i can't use the ingame save thingie.

It says this:

Save error. Please exchange the backup memory.

So, when i beat the elite four, the game cannot save and it starts a whole new game. Is there something that i could do?

Im using VBA.

Before playing FR/LG in an emulator, you need to enable the in-game saving by clicking on emulator-options-save type-flash 128k. Try doing so and then deleting the .sav file, but if it doesn't work, sorry but you will have to start again.

the same thing happens to me in shiny gold x, and the only way i can save is if i write states in the file -> save game area, do u kno how to solve this problem or do u just do the same thing?
