hello there !
i am reeseyfins, but please call me reese ^__^ i joined this forum in hopes that i can talk about my love for pokemon with people that will actually understand. while i have a good amount of friends, i only have a few that also enjoy pokemon. i have to admit, i am still very nervous, but i will do my very best to enjoy my time here !
that aside, i'm a total marine biology nerd and an art hobbyist. who knows, maybe i'll be sharing my art on here on day !
while i am a student, i still do volunteer work and i am a member of an organisation that pretty much just listens to people talk about the problems around the city and then finds ways to fix them. in the future, i hope to have a job as either a marine biologist or a dolphin trainer.

i am mostly interested in all the characters and the games. the designs for the pokemon especially are lovely. and the idea of pokemon in general fascinates me- a unique world so different yet so similar to our own. i often enjoy thinking about scenarios such as "what if pokemon were real?", "how would my own journey go?", "what pokemon would i have?", etc etc. my favourite games are white 2 and mystery dungeon: explorers of sky (total sucker for the mystery dungeon games, LOL). i'm actually replaying explorers of sky right now! the mystery dungeon games are so special to me, since you get to actually live as a pokemon and interact with other pokemon, instead of playing as yet another human pokemon trainer. wish there were more games like that, even fangames would be great.

Hey, welcome to the forums! If you came to talk about your love for Pokémon, then you definitely came to the right place. I am pretty much obsessed with Pokémon at this point. In addition, you don't have any reason to be nervous. Pretty much everybody here in the PokéCommunity is very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I see you're interested in marine biology. Me too. Lol In fact, it's one of the main reasons I got into Pokémon and why Water-type Pokémon tend to be my favorite type. That's also an interesting username you have. lol I take it is related to your love for marine biology?

What aspect of Pokémon do you enjoy the most? Are you interested in competitive battling? Do you like to shiny hunt, catch everything, or do you just prefer a casual playthrough? What is your favorite generation? Are you into the anime?

I also like many pokémon for their look. This is actually my first criteria to pick a pokémon for a team, the way they look, over their type, stats, moves, ...
I also enjoy pondering on questions like "how pokémon really live in the wild ?" or "what about the pokémon who want something else than being wild / being in a trainer's team / etc... ?"!
White 2 / Black 2 is my second favourite, after Red / Blue (the nostalgia ^^), with the best means to train and evolve pokémon!

I agree totally! I sure would love to see fan games letting you play as a pokémon of your choosing! Like one working like the standard Pokémon game but instead of pokéballs and catching, we would recruit a team to follow our main (pokémon) character by accomplishing various tasks : Bringing them specific food, finding their lost key item, beating them one on one, dealing with a threat to their family, ... so many possibilities!

yes, i've been casually lurking here and there and it really seems to be a friendly place. i hope i can get used to being here and enjoy my time here to the fullest :)
i'd say i'm more casual, though i have been wanting to get into competitive pokemon as well! though, problem being, i have absolutely 0 clue where to start! @_@ i do enjoy shiny hunting occasionally, even though i am a rather impatient person, but it's been growing more and more on me with time.
my favourite generation has to be gen 5, definitely. i've also been kinda warming up to gen 6!
i used to watch the anime all the time when i was younger, but now, not so much. i totally want to get back into it when i have the time, though!

yes, my love for marine biology has definitely influenced my username xD
water type pokemon are absolutely awesome. whenever i'm playing a pokemon game and have to choose one water type for my team, it's a STRUGGLE. there's just way too many cool ones!!! i'm absolutely obsessed with so many of them- floatzel, gastrodon, sharpedo, vaporeon, lapras, so on so on ... if only making a team full of water types was a safe choice. :'')

Well, if you're interested in getting into competitive Pokémon, you're talking to the right person! I can help you with that. Just talk to me if you have any questions about it. My favorite generation is 5 as well. I loved those games. They had the best story, legendaries, region, evil team, and many other things. Yeah, a lot of people grew out of the anime. It's been pretty good now though. As for making an all Water-type team, it's definitely possible to do it safely if you make a rain team!

There's definitely people who do themed playthroughs with a monotype team. It's definitely possible, but you might need to plan a bit.
I wanna try an Ice monotype team myself one day, but already have too much to do with too little time to get it going any time soon rofl
