Hey it's me again, that annoying little blip on the game making radar.
I've got another question today, but I gotta quickly explain something.
I'm making a Pokémon/Monster Hunter crossover fangame.
In Monster Hunter, hunters have 'Hunter Ranks' ('HR').
Breakdown of that here:
Basically, do enough quests and your HR increases. It has a max of 999, but usually only the first 100 are relevant in any way.
In MH4 and MHGenerations, HRs 0 to 3 are Low Rank hunters (who fight easy monsters), HRs 4 to 7 are High Rank hunters (who fight more challenging monsters) and HR 8+ are considered Advanced hunters. (Who fight difficult monsters).
In MHWorld:, HRs 1 to 8 are Low Rank iirc, with 8 to 15 being High Rank and 16+ being Advanced.
There is also something called G-Rank (Called Master Rank in MHWI) which is available only to Advanced hunters. In MH4U the G-Ranks are G-1, G-2, G-3 and G-Special (Bronze, Silver and Gold) and in Iceborne it's MR 1 through 999, with 1 through 25 obtained naturally throughout the story)
I know it's tossed around a lot but some aspects of G-Rank is kinda Dark Souls like in difficulty, with a bunch of OHKOs and full-HP kill combos and unfairly difficult fights.
Basically, my question is, is it possible to implement Hunter Ranks (and maybe also G-Rank) into the game, and make certain events trigger at certain HRs? (eg a legendary encounter becoming available at HR8 or a vender selling evo stones unlocking at HR 6, or a new area of the game filled with challenging trainers unlocking upon reaching G-Rank, etc)
It would make it a tad more faithful to the source material I'm working with.
Thank you <3
