are these two choices for non-uber competition? also, what is a good moveset for the two? thank you in advance once again. =p

lol... if going to Mana's definition, obviously they are non ubars because both of them can breed and isn't one with the "uber" bracket within the list in ATG... I personally prefer Scizor a lot more... the attack power and much boosted defense are quite necessary, while agility can easily fix the speed drop. Though in a way, you can say that for swords dance too, but Agility = faster than Jolty =p

    Scizor- [atk or def + / sp.atk -] @ lum/liechi
EV: speed on 198 at all cost, atk and hp for the rest
    -agility
    -silver wind
    -HP Ghost
    -steel wing

Meh... actually using steel wing. Usually it's HP Steel + return for non baton passing Scizor, but then just to be slightly original =3

    one more tihng.

ok, thanks so much bud, but one more thing..
i read the information on hidden power from serebii.net, but i still don't understand how to get it to the ghost attack form, could you help explain it clearly? i know it's a lot of work but i'm hoping you've got time. =)

you can't "get it" to a certain HP. You need to be born with it... either you have it from birth, or you don't. If you play on the real gameboy, then don't even bother with it, as the chance to get a satisfying HP is as low as..

    1 divided by (31^5)

Don't forget that you'll want a certain nature too, which is 1/25 on top of that, so

    1/(31^5) * (1/25)

Winning the lottery is perhaps just as difficult as getting HP Ghost 70... the equation isn't totally correct, as there's more than one method to get HP Ghost 70. This is the equation for HP Dark 70, where there is only one way to it... but it's not off by that much at all.

    thanks

that's what i thought, i play on the gameboy and all this 'theory' junk is just that, junk. to get a certain IV with a certain nature with a certain etc, it's exponentionally harder with each step. i'm just glad to get a male of my species with the moves bred to it. =)

males don't have higher attack than females anymore, so the gender really shouldn't matter =/

Well, breeding for multiples should warrant at least 1 male, right :X And then use the one with the best IVs for battling purposes.

BTW, if you have Agility on Scizor, and can't afford HP Ghost, why not play with Baton pass? Could do someone some good in your team, I'd think...
