i don't know if this is where this belongs or if a thread requesting rants has already been made (i looked but didn't see one)...
so... i got the latest issue of nintendo power today and they had an article on the tournament that took place in seattle towards the end of last april. they showed the winning guy's team... it's lack of creativity made me so mad:

    Rayquaza
    Fly, Earthquake, Hyper Beam, Crunch

    Groudon
    Solarbeam, Eruption, Earthquake, Flamethrower

    Mewtwo
    Thunderbolt, Recover, Ice Beam, Psychic

ga... so this is the greatest trainer in north america??? that's rediculous... 3 legendaries and only one non-attack move?

    that was his team!

good god, that is just wack!

He could have at least thrown in calm mind or something like that. maybe the tourney didnt have many good players in it, but more likely is that he was just very very lucky!

and I think this should be somewhere in the pokemon GB section.

Well, this thread isn't serving much of a purpose. ^^; So...a kid won with only legendaries and not a well-built team like you guys may have...but there's no need to rant about it here. XD

EDIT: Well, after some discussion and thought - I'll re-open this thread...no questions asked. XD

um... this doesn't really need to be reopened. nobody really likes a whiner... but if anybody has anything to say about this, i guess it's fine with me. but i've already given my opinion, so i'm done here.

Uh, did you guys read the rules about the tournament?

According to the rules, the winners that obtained Pok?mon Emerald recieved a game less than a month before heading towards Seattle's Space Needle. I doubt that you can create a very good team that doesn't consist of legendaries in that short amount of time. Even then, you have to consider how many other players would use legendaries. Since everybody knows that legendaries rule in stats, it's a good chance that they'd use them in a tournament with a lot at stake. Comon, whoever went to Seattle probably wants to go to Japan pretty badly.

That also doesn't leave a lot of time to plan Pok?mon from the other games. Honestly, it'd take me more than a month to plan for a tournament when there's more possibilities out there. Had I known that Volt Tackle was now avalible, it'd definately would help in the process.

I don't like using legendaries myself if I have the chance. However, at a competition, I usually don't like taking chances if I'm that into winning. Otherwise, I'd love to rub it in my opponent's face when I win without the use of any legendaries when they did.

I'm annoyed by his win, but hey, we should be happy for him that he's going to Japan and stuff. People who play netbattle forget that not everyone counts (or even knows of) ev's and iv's and the importance of egg moves, and other things. Remember, Pokemon is something to be enjoyed, and, believe it or not, some people just like winning and using legendaries.
