3rd Gen Secret bases

Secret bases were pretty much the thing in Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald if you ask me! They were little huts you could make as a little hangout place for yourself to enjoy, and it was kinda like setting up your own room, only it was inside of a cave/shrub/bush. Trainers were also able to connect with one another and have others' secret bases in their games by way of mixing records, and you could even battle with those trainers' Party Pokémon at the time the records were mixed.

So, did you (or do you) have a secret base? What was in your secret base? Where was your secret base? What are some of your overall thoughts on secret bases?

I loved secret bases, and found myself spending time customizing mine on plenty of occasions. Furniture and decorations that they had were much fun to play with, such as musical notepads and water-balloons. My most favorite, however, would likely have to be slide; once you got on top, you'd be pushed towards bottom immediately.

I didn't get to mix-records as much as some people, unfortunately, because back then. not many of my friends had any link-cable; only two did, if I remember correctly. Though, doing such things does help a ton. Once you're done, your friends would be added to your game and could be found in whatever secret base location they happen to be. As soon as you talk, you'd engage in a battle. If they happen to have some well-leveled Pokémon on their team, this could make training much easier for you, as you wind up gaining a lot more of experience than normal.

Hey! Secret Bases! I loved these. There were so many accessories and furniture to decorate them with! I had plenty. And as Peitharchia said above, the slide was amazing hehe. I remember having fun with that- I still do! I still do remember stuffing one of my bases with PokéDolls, and that was my most favorite one.

And I never record mixed. I did have a friend and both of us did have a link cable, but unfortunately we never did mix records. Would of have been awesome if we did, though! I can see training being easy if you have a friend with good levelled Pokémon. Secret Bases are fun alright! It's a shame they didn't add lots of new features in Emerald, though. I would of have loved to choose how to expand if we could.
