This is a story I've been working on, and have not yet finished. Chapters can be posted anything between daily and weekly, it all depends how much time I have to continue writing it. Luckily, I've done the first 4 chapters, so enjoy!

    Chapter 1: The Beginning (finished)
Chapter 2: A strange Pokemon (finished)
    Chapter 3: Making Friends (finished)
Chapter 4: The Trainer's School (finished)
Chapter 5: Oreburgh City, and the Coal Badge (not finished)
    And so on...

    1. The Beginning
"Alright! Today's the day!" I cried. Pulling back the cover of the bed I leapt out.
"Quit it!," Rose grumbled, "I'm trying to get some sleep. Surely Professor Rowan can wait a couple of hours!"
"Lily, Rose. Come down to breakfast! It's waffles today! You have to be quick you know, Professor Rowan isn't going to wait all day." My mum's voice floated up the stairs. When Rose hears anything to do with food she's as quick as a Sceptile, and there was no exception today. She had dashed down the stairs and when I finally came down was tucking into three waffles at the breakfast table.
"Just imagine! You're 10 already and setting off on your adventure! I remember when I was your age. You're going to have so much fun, meeting new pokemon, battling trainers, and maybe...Maybe even competing in the Sinnoh League!" My mum exclaimed. I felt so excited, I'd never had my own pokemon before! Even though my mum had her Chansey helping round the house, and dad's Charizard provided our source of transportation, I had never felt the actual thrill of being able to say 'This Pokemon is mine'. Rose just pulled a scowl and carried on eating. Even though we're both identical twins we're as different as two peas in a pod. Rose doesn't really like Pokemon and tries her best to steer clear of them, whereas I do and can't wait to have one. She is also prone to sudden outbursts of bad temper and will frequently not listen to people. I tend to keep my cool and only blow my top if I'm really provoked.

After my breakfast mum gave us a leaflet about the Sinnoh starter Pokemon and their evolutions and strengths.
    It read:
    TURTWIG:
Grass type (2nd evolution is grass/ground)
Turtwig is an ideal choice for beginners. Although Turtwig is quite slow, it makes up for this by having high levels of defence and attack. It is solid and takes quite a few hits to defeat. It also learns an impressive array of attacks, which together with it's other strengths make it a powerful pokemon. Turtwig evolves into Grotle and then Torterra.

    PIPLUP:
Water type (final evolution is water/steel)
Piplup is suitable for slightly more advanced trainers who are prepared to do ALOT of training to improve Piplup's performance. Piplup has a very proud (and sometimes very arrogant) nature, and needs a patient trainer who will comfort it when times are tough. It has great power but during it's time as Piplup and some as Prinplup it may be a bit shaky and will find it hard to fulfil it's true potential. BUT, in the end it will a really powerful addition to you team. Piplup evolves into Prinplup and then Empoleon.

    CHIMCHAR:
Fire type (2nd evolution is fire/fighting)
Chimchar is a master of speed. It's attack and defence skills are not as high but it makes up for that by usually having the first attack. Chimchar is very friendly and will strike up a partnership with their partner as soon as possible. This makes it less likely to disobey commands given in a battle. Chimchar is suitable for both beginners and slightly advanced. Chimchar evolves into Monferno and then Infernape.

"I think I'll go with Piplup, he looks quite powerful." I said. The picture given made Piplup quite cute,-but powerful at the same time.
    "Lets see...",Rose said with a dumb look and a thick,stupid accent,"Maybe I should have...uh...Turtwig! Yes that's it. Turtwig is grass-type, which is Piplup's weakness!"
I hated her mocking tone. I should have known she would pick a Pokemon which was strong against mine. Well still, I wasn't going to change my choice. Stronger or not, we'd beat her hands down.
Mum was just reading the newspaper when she gave an exclamation.
"Look",she said,"At this newspaper article. That Team Frost has done something very bad this time. Not just a silly little Pokemon or Pokecentre robbery, but something big." She handed us the newspaper. I looked at the article titled: 'Supposed Team Frost Shock Us All' and read aloud:

"Police Officer Jenny was called to 'The Pokemon Research Laboratory' on the outskirts of Twinleaf town earlier this morning to investigate a call made by a frantic Scientist. A very special Research Pokemon, known as 18469P was kidnapped following a series of gunshots and the Laboratory being vandalised badly. We can't reveal the species of Pokemon as it is top secret but we do know it's a shiny. There are no details to the whereabouts of this Pokemon but Scientists are saying they saw shadows (looking like Team Frost) scurrying towards the wood. Please be careful as they may be very dangerous."
"Maybe you shouldn't go to Prof.Rowan's lab today to receive your first Pokemon. I don't want you getting harmed in anyway by those thugs on the loose." Mum said worriedly.
"Suits me fine." replied Rose and carried on eating. But I had a very different answer.
"But mum! We'll be fine. That Team Frost are probably miles away by now with the special Pokemon. Anyway, we've been waiting for this moment for years!"
"I don't know...",She mused over it for a bit,"Well, OK then. But you have to be extremely careful, promise?"
    "Of course mum!" I promised.
"I suppose I can trust you two. You're not babies after all." she replied. After our breakfast mum gave us a bag with fresh clothes and other essentials we'd need on our journey. Then a sulky and reluctant Rose and I, set off on our journey.

thanks, I post the next chapter now:

    2. A Strange Pokemon
When we arrived at Professor Rowan's laboratory in Sandgem Town, there was a enormous queue of newbie trainers anxiously awaiting their first pokemon. I felt the same way too, but doubted if Rose did. After what seemed like hours we finally made it to the front of the queue.
"Now, have you decided what pokemon you want, young trainers?" Professor Rowan asked.
"I would like a Piplup please Professor Rowan." I replied.
"A Turtwig...please." Rose said. She grinned at me nastily as she held out her hand for the pokeball. Professor Rowan gave me a pokeball and commanded the pokemon to come out. But to my surprise it contained no pokemon!
"Oh dear. I'm very sorry. It must have been a prototype." He said worriedly. My face fell, but Professor Rowan said something which pleased me very much.
"I don't usually do this. But I think we can make an exception today. A while ago, another trainer came in with a badly hurt pokemon that needed immediate care. The trainer said it wasn't his and left it with us. We are looking for a reliable trainer who can look after it. We went through some basic training and found it was extremely powerful. It also is a different colour from the other pokemon of it's type. You may be the perfect trainer for it." My face lit up as he led me down a corridor and into a dimly lit room labelled 'Lost And Found Special Pokemon'. I gasped when I saw the pokemon, it was beyond anything I had ever seen. A Rapidash, tall and elegant stood in the room. It was a shiny pokemon with a golden mane and tail and a red body. I walked over to it shyly and it nuzzled my hand. Professor Rowan handed me it's reign.
"Have you thought of a nickname for it?" He inquired.
"Yes, Pearl." I replied. I walked round Pearl, and noticed a tiny silver P inscribed into Pearl's skin. That's weird, pokemon don't usually have letters embedded in their skin. Maybe she is just a very special pokemon. Either way, I'm very lucky to have her, I thought. Professor Rowan then handed me a Pokedex, 5 pokeballs and 2 potions. Using the pokedex, I checked what moves Pearl could use. I was surprised.
    She knew:
    Flamethrower
    Giga Impact
    Tackle
    Solarbeam

They were powerful moves and I was impressed.
"Thank-you so much Professor Rowan!" I said.
"You're welcome and take good care of Pearl." He replied. He gave me a pokeball for Pearl and led me back to the other trainers. Rose gasped and stared jealously at Pearl.
"I bet she doesn't know any good moves." Rose sneered.
"Yes actually. Flamethrower, Tackle, Giga Impact and Solarbeam." I replied. I was happy to see the astonished look on her face. I looked at her Turtwig. It was a cute little thing, and obviously quite powerful. But I knew that I could now beat Rose for sure.
"I don't care how powerful your silly pokemon is, I'm going to become the champion of Sinnoh with Twiggy, my Turtwig. I'm certainly not travelling with you though." She announced and with that flounced off in a huff through the sliding doors. I was secretly pleased that I didn't have to travel with a spoilt brat like her.

I hope you like this and the next chapter should be posted either later today or tomorrow, and I'm currently working on finishing chapter 5. Thank-you to people who will correct my mistakes and add things!
