So I've faced Shadow Mewtwo a few times after destroying the Gym Leaders League Masters, and he's slaughtered me both times. This is disappointing, as I'm otherwise undefeated...

What I want to know is, does beating him have any affect on what little story there is? Or does he just leave in a burst of Synergy either way?

Have any of you beaten Shadow Mewtwo when he's challenged you? I was so close the first time!

I was wondering the same thing actually. I beat it the first time but lost the second. Haven't gotten any further so didn't want to google it in case of spoilers! I like how there is a story behind Shadow Mewtwo, makes it less of a gimmick!

Edit: So just beat the Red League and faced Mewtwo again and

I was wondering what happens if you beat him compared to losing to Shadow Mewtwo...

He got off to a great start vs me. I had been getting a lot of perfects against the weak 1st tournament, so it took me a bit to catch up to how much better he was. Then I turned it around. I got him down to around 50 and was going to win. My support pokemon was filled so I hit that (I had just got the support group with Espeon and had selected it before the battle). And that cost me. Espeon didn't help and I got hit like 3 times before I could move so I lost. Grr, why did I call my support pokemon?

*So now I want to know what would have happened if I would have won the battle, anyone know?

Luckily, I do happen to know!

I beat him after the first tournament, literally nothing happens, the way the storyline progresses it sounds like you lost anyway.
Lost to him after the second time after he used his synergy burst combo, and the game even brought up the line "it finished with it's synergy burst, just like last time" or something along those lines, even though he didn't use it in our first fight cause I played out almost a perfect combo on him
