Does the breeding thing still hold true for D/S?

No. Breeding only passes on shininess in GSC; it does not in any GBA or DS Pokemon game.

uhhh, my first shiny was a red celebi, which of course wasn't legit, but he was still my first shiny :0

i never got a shiney anything...the only shiny ive gotten was the red gyrados on G/S/C, but every got that so its not that cool...i guess i just got bad luck...

On my real game, all my legit shinies were Rattata, Ditto (Ditto glitch), and Gyarados. I had a gameshark, so I forget which were legit and which weren't... I should breed with the ditto since in that generation, the shiny ditto had a 50% chance of passing down the trait IIRC.

On roms I have legitly caught Weedle (I have the savestate trying to catch it.), Swinub, Slowpoke, Voltorb (in the hack I got it in it's a different Pokemon... Cloudy I think...), Clefa, Igglybuff, and another one that was normal type... but I have no clue what it was... it's been too long since I played...
