Shinies????

Can anybody help me? Most of you know how to find shiny Pokemon, but I don't. I find it all really frustrating and confusing... What I really need is a really good explanation; one with examples and such. I know it's with chaining and the PokeRadar, but I don't get how everybody gets so many shinies... I've never had one...(Except a shiny Unown that I ran into-- but that doesn't count)

You pretty much have to go hunting in one general area. Chances are slim you'll find one, but eventually you will.

I saw these things with the area numbers (0,1,2,3,4) and I was wondering if somebody could explain those to me. Do you know what those mean? And I heard that you're not supposed to step on the outside patch of grass...

There are a bunch of chaining tutorials on YouTube. Aside from that, it's either pure luck or you can use RNG to breed yourself a shiny egg.
