Shinies?

    Shiny Pokemon in Pokemon Go have not been confirmed and given their very low appearance rate I'm assuming it's a little early after Go's release for anyone to have found any. However, what do you guys think, will there be shinies in Pokemon Go? How rare will they be compared to the main games? And if you somehow come across one post it here :)
     
    I'd love to see shiny Pok?mon in GO.

    It would honestly make all the relentless catching of the same Pok?mon over and over again seem just that much less daunting.
     
    Sadly, shiny Pok?mon have been confirmed not to exist yet in Pok?mon Go, via the code for the game. However, this doesn't mean they can't be added later, and I personally would love to see some shiny Pok?mon. It would make each encounter that little more exciting!
     
    They aren't in the game. I expect them to be added later, I think after the servers are fixed and all we will slowly start seeing a lot more added to the game such as friendly battles, trading, and yes, shinnies. Could take a while though.
     
    I don't actually know if they'll be added in the future as Pokemon GO seems to be a Gen 1 specific game and shinies weren't introduced until Gen 2 (I think). Then again, eggs weren't in Gen 1 either so... who knows.

    Yeah I agree, I think there's a lot of stuff to be fixed before Niantic add more features but I can't wait to see what's in store for Go!

    They confirmed that at some point all Pokemon will be available in Pokemon Go, so hopefully that means shinies too!

    Oh! Wow that's going to take a LOT of coding. Is there any sources for what's officially confirmed to be coming for Pokemon GO?
     
    I think shinies would be a splendid idea! It would add tons to the overall theme of rarity and trying to get people to get outside more, haha. As a shiny hunter in the main games, this would be quite a hobby. I'm just hoping it will be a bit easier to obtain them, though, as I'm not sure if I can keep up with as much walking I do in the games x.x
