lol space. seems like thats random. well, after chaining nincada, i wanted to play my ds after not playing days after chaining. so, i went to sunnyshore to surf to the league and beat them. on my way, BAM! shiny manytke ^_^/

anyways, good luck on everyone chaining
 
So let me get this straight. I've chained about 30 dittos in a row.

By chaining pokémon, it is easier to get shinies?

Because I haven't seen my first shiny on D/P yet.

That's correct, JTBlaze. The chances you will see a shiny increase dramatically after you've chained around 35-40. Once you see a shiny patch of grass, step in it.

But don't be disappointed if a shiny doesn't show up right away. When I was chaining Doduo, I didn't find a shiny untill about 54.
